Yes, it doesn´t work well on older devices. I tried it on my iPhone 3G and it crashes after almost every scenario change. I guess it has to do with the limited memory of this device. Works fine on iPhone4 though.
The game likes to close after about 10 minutes or so, well more like after about 6 loading screens worth of changing areas, I will blame the lack of ram on a 2g touch for that Love what I played over the last hour, it feels great and I really like what I have seen so far, can't wait to try this game once it stops closing or when I get an itouch 4 ,which ever comes first this month
Since I won't be able to upgrade anytime soon, I guess I'll wait on the sidelines on this one until there is more optimization for the 2G Touch (and, hopefully, they'll run a sale back to $6.99 at that point).
Will a non-RPG fan enjoy the game? The only one I've put time into is Chaos Rings, but I know that's quite a different style.
if you like fishing, or hunting, or just messing around running down enemies on a horse... maybe you'll like it too.
Well I hate Chaos Rings, Final Fantasy and all other JRPGs. But I'm enjoying Aralon. It's a Western style RPG, more similar to Oblivion and Morrowmind. It took me quite a while to get used to everything, but now I know how everything works it's becoming very enjoyable.
screw it, I don't care that I'm running a 2g ipod touch. I'm buying it. I'll deal with the bugs later. if my plan fails entirely, I'll just play hook worlds until aralon updates with optimizations. and that's not a bad choice either.
Just read a few post in here, the game is being compared to console games, in my opinion josh, thats not a bad thing consedering the game is for idevises, i have only had time to play a few minuts, and it is living up to everyting i expected, and even more. Im on a 3GS and high atrings and i have had no problems with it yet, controles are fine like the way you Can control the camera in "3ed person relativ" In my opinion this os so far the Best game i have player (that is not for a consol) Super game! Cant wait for tje julidæg to come so i realy have the time to give it a serios go!
Do you like Legend of Zelda games? After putting some more time in with the game, if I had to sum it up in one sentence it would be "If Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was combined with the mechanics of a Western RPG you'd get Aralon". I in no way mean that as a bad thing.
I don't mind the crashing so much because it's a nuisance more than anything else, but the bug at the village gate makes it completely unplayable beyond the first area. I know my device needs upgrading, but I've got to put up with it for a couple more months before I can afford to replace it and I'm going to get as much use out of it as I can.
Yes I rebooted my iPod Touch and cleared the memory and processes as well. It might have to do with the fact that my device is jailbroken but the game still plays and runs while crashing at random parts in the beginning (which leads me to believe it eventually gets overloaded).
What do i have to do to get quests from the various guilds in Aralon? I dunno if i ran into a bug or am just doing something entirely wrong. The main storyline progresses accordingly, i`m about to enter the sewers, but the guildmasters seem to ignore me. I´m a sucker for sidequests, so i´d love to do some for those guilds. Thanks for answering, Josh.
Yes thats a known bug, which is already fixed in the update we are about to submit. Its a side quest, not part of the main storyline - but will be resolved as soon as the update comes out (Hopefully Apple approves fast!)
Pleasantly surprised by the mount system. I was hoping it'd be like this instead of the way some other games handle it, where you pay per ride, or for a time limited ride. I waited to get a mount till I started heading north for Karn, so I could buy the 1800 gold white stallion. Speeeeed
Ok thanks, anyway, I abandoned the quest just to look around the mansion, look amazing, can't wait to have the key to go inside.
Okay, I'm set on getting this eventually but I have a few more questions, if you don't mind: - Is there a reward for stealthiness? - Can I become a thief in the game, lockpick doors, enter buildings without being seen, etc.? - Are there a lot of places I can go into? Lots of buildings, caves, dungeons? - How's the story in terms of twists, turns, character development, and scope? That's about it. Thanks in advance. EDIT: All right, sorry for being such an idiot. For some reason I completely forgot about "App Descriptions", and most of my questions were answered there. Sorry for being an annoyance. Just bought it.
