If I want to just explore the world, will it be worth the money? I just want to ride around on a horse and explore the world, and don't want to kill anything. Is there a good deal of exploration to be had? Is combat a necessity? Also, can my horse ever die?
You can sneak past enemies, but I would still say that combat is necessary to do anything in the game because you can't really level up without it (especially when you're also avoiding quests). There seems to be no shortage of locations to explore, though. For reference, in Oblivion I really enjoyed being able to get through most of the game without any fighting at all, but I didn't expect to be able to do that in Aralon and am still enjoying it a lot. In other words, combat doesn't feel like it's just there to make the game feel longer. It's actually quite okay, not a lot of trouble. I don't know if you can kill your horse, I haven't tried to get it killed yet. But enemies are fairly slow to attack and out in the open terrain I think it should be possible to avoid them in the most cases.
Yeah, it seems that CM has a little issue with controls on ipad. They are always bit too high (I see the same happening but being fixed for rimelands HD) ... and too small (actually to condensed is a better description). But the game feels vast ... so vast, I think I will wait to play it till when I have proper time on boxing day (during boring family things).
you can switch off the music in the menue.. then you will notice that the voice over is pretty bad.. i rather would like to turn that off instead.. so i would assume its a design choice that the bad VO is overpowered by the music.. i know its an indie project... but amateur voice over are are so easily killing the mood.. simple gfx, or edgy polygones is something thats ok .. but amateur voice over.. ugghh.. then i would rather have no voice over at all.. after the first 30 minutes i would agree to the 6/10 .. this is a very rough unpolished game so faar.. and i agree with everyone the thumbstick is a joke.. the control area is so tiny.. controls are not fun at all.. hope the upcoming updates fix some of the issues. who knows what would be the result of the devs would have the monetary power of like gameloft.. ea/chilingo..
Mmm .... I tend to agree after playing a bit more. And the intro is also all broken up. This one goes into the repository of games needed an update ... what a pity. Lot of potential, but tiny condensed controls and not so great voices reduce severely the fun factor here.
the point is there is no fix NEEDED. yes it would be wonderful to fix it a bit and they may be able to optimize it in updates, but complaining about this is like complaining that the wii doesnt have ps3 graphics. you get what the hardware can handle, simple as that. edit: Aralon is #19 in top grossing as of now
Playing this on the iPad and there definitely needs to be some work done on it. Controls are an issue. The thumbstick is way too small on the the big screen and I'm constantly looking instead of moving. Why not have it more dynamic. Make it so if you touch anywhere on the left side of the screen it will make the guy move, and the right side is looking. Give us some sensitivity options as well. Also its EXTREMELY ANNOYING that the the load screens and most importantly the inventory screen on the iPad, the screen size goes as small as the puny little iPhone screen. Pretty bad trying to select through the menu system. Kind of hard to enjoy the game when these to issues are there. I think I'll go back to Dungeon Hunter 2 HD until they fix it, it's not worth it at the moment when all the other new releases I've gotten today don't have these kind of annoyances.
After spending 20 mins with the game (did a couple of the initial noobquests), I must say... I'm impressed. I find nothing wrong with the controls; in fact I find them t be pretty good (playing on an iPhone 4). The default camera view works well for my tastes and I look forward to digging into the world of Aralon a bit deeper once my time with the other multitude of releases dies down
"Make it so if you touch anywhere on the left side of the screen it will make the guy move, and the right side is looking." This would be my preference on the iPad. Get rid of the joystick altogether and just let us use any portion on the left side of the screen for movement.
Ive turned first setting off and second on low on my 3rd gen and it still seems to get that big hop/jerk everyonce inawhile is anyone else having this problem?
Hi, I have started playing the 1.0 version and when I updated to 2.0 the game could not load =( Is the update so important? I can deal with a few crashes here and there...
Personally, I haven't really experienced many problems with the controls (besides the auto lock-on can be a bit cumbersome at times). However, there have been occasions where I've gone exploring and accidentally fallen down to be stuck in a spot where I can't get out. The only way to get out was to load a savegame. I know it's extremely difficult to avoid issues like this in an open-world game, but it can be frustrating. Great game anyhow, best RPG on the iPhone for sure.
just installed in on the ipad.. oh boy.. if gameloft would have released such an ipad port people would shred them to pices.. but here its all high praises.. well i think its nice of them that this is a universal release.. but the more i play the more this looks like an early beta and not a polished release version and we are already at version 2.0 .. ?! weird.. well this is disspointing because i planed to play on the big screen at home.. :/ .. and i made an troll on the ipad.. and well the game started the same.. they tell the same story.. the troll has the same voice over and just feel totaly out of place in the starting area.. i don't know.. sometimes less is more..
There's a major difference between iPhone and iPad controls even though - or actually, because - they are the same. So on iPad you have tiny controls in the wrong location for your fingers. Apart from that they work nicely, though. --- About the "unfinished" business, here's an example. There's this escort quest where you have to escort a woman past some bandits in three minutes. Just as I'm to about to reach the destination, she randomly runs off and starts to attack some deer. As I'm helping her with the deer (I suppose she's hungry or something) the quest expires. Fortunately I can just talk to her again right there, get the quest again, and another 3 minutes to walk over to the destination behind the next corner. These typical "unfinished" issues are definitely there. But I really think the game doesn't deserve less than 8 or 9 of 10 points; the thing is, while the issues are there and noticeable, they don't dominate what's otherwise a brilliant game and really groundbreaking on this platform.
Started the game on ver2.0, create an elf then try to start the game but it stucked there. rebooted my 3gs, start the game again, this time with a human, choosing hairstyle and it crashed. i guess i'll just leave it there until a fix is available
Anybody having same problems with hops? just find it weird how some can run this game on a 2nd gen yet im having problems with my 32gb 3rd gen that has over 20gigs freespace with the gfx setting to off and low wondering if this can be my device as this isnt the first game i get framerate/hop issues, got my touch few months ago just about right before 4th gen came out but got 1 year warranty wondering if this is a problem at which i should bring mine back and just upgrade to 4th gen?
ok, after reading all these comments, it sums up for me as: Nice game, bugs for many player, control issues, not polished. Obviously not living up to the hype! Skip for me, at the moment!
Aralon: the iOS has its new RPG flagship. Unbelievable, what Galoobeth Games and CMG have created for the iOS. Graphics are good, sound cool and Controls working fine. This game it top-notch.
