After a frustratingly long download of 2.5 hours I've played it about half an hour or so, and here are my initial impressions. I'm playing on a 4G Touch so your mileage may vary. 1. Graphics are great in terms of environment. Sometimes even stunning. I rolled a troll warrior and the detail on his face (scars etc) are very well done, as are the clothes and armor. The animations though, well I just don't think my warrior should run like a girl-which is what it looks like. However, it's still light years beyond what movement was like in Ravensword, so I won't bitch about that too much. 2. Story-from what I've seen so far will probably keep my interest though it doesn't seem like anything new under the sun. That being said, even cliches can be entertaining if they're told well, and this seems to be so far. 3. Combat does take some getting used to, as it is now it just seems rather awkward. I think my problem is it doesn't feel responsive enough. I love the skills tree and stats however. 4. Menus are very intuitive and easy to navigate, I can't really complain about them. though I do think things like pelts and wolves teeth should be able to be stacked. I agree with what a lot of people have said in terms of auto looting. There's no reason why I have to go through all the steps of targeting, opening, looting, closing and going back to the game. As for performance, on my 4G Touch, there's no lag, frame rate issues, or unnecessary load times. It all runs silky smooth so far. Haven't had a crash yet. The swimming and climbing mechanics really need a bit of polishing as well; I found them a bit hit or miss. All in all, it's everything I've expected, and not disappointed yet.
Are the young wolf teeth helpful? I've got loads of them and want to trash them but don't know if I would need them later on...
They were the 501st item in aralon so they could boast 500+ items in game. Don't bother picking em up
I turned on the airplane mode (heard somewhere that it increases memory) and made all the graphical settings the lowest and so far, I've played 2 hours until my battery dried out without a crash! Even took some screenies on how far I've been. lol
Airplane mode just turns off your wifi/bluetooth/data connections I don't think it should increase your memory.
I'm having exactly the same problem. It's not far in, so I tried starting a new game and the result was the same. I'm going to try reinstalling it next, but if that doesn't work the bug makes the game unplayable. Edit: reinstalling hasn't helped either.
Huh I just noticed in this picture there's the Slice N Dice icon from WoW? WoW: Yeah it's inversed on the Y-axis but... seriously? EDIT: On closer inspection it looks like it was drawn differently. But still you can't help but notice the similarities.
i think youve forgotten that this is on a mobile device with limited specs, as well as developed with an engine that is pre made, rather than designed by the developers of the game specifically made for this kind of game. not to mention this is the first time a game of this scope has hit the ios devices.
Lol... Why does the music have to overpower the VoiceOver like that? I was talking with the rodrick (something like that), and I could barely hear the VoiceOver.
They do have a point with the bugs, and the controls feeling a bit off at times. On the iPad the entire menu system and inventory is just the iPhone version centered on a black screen, for example, so which device you play on can make a noticeable difference wrt. how finished the game feels. I would give it a 9 too based on the insane amount of things you can do for an iOS game, but I can see that some people might value pretty visuals higher than that...
these are good points but if it's annoying for some/many when exploring the world, then it is annoying... arguing will not fix that.
