Ipod Touch 4G I shouldve said.. It crashes everytime I pick ELF-MALE-MAGE. I have the new 2.0 version on my Ipod Touch 4G/64. Does it not like elf mages?!
Questions: - How does the save work? - Not the smartest guy when it comes to this, so I'll ask, I know this is working perfectly on 2nd gens, but will future updates and things possibly affect the compatability? Basically, is it possible for future updates to change something about the game that makes it unplayable on the 2nd gen? This might sound a bit weird, but again I'm no expert at this.
Downloading in the UK now It's not showing up through itunes on my PC but shows up on the app store on my iphone.
Game Impressions Well my wait is final over. I’ve had some time with this game now and so far it’s been excellent. The graphics look great, I love the lighting effects and there are some very detailed textures. Character models could be improved, however the environments look really nice. Gameplay so far has been pretty smooth. The combat works well and even though it’s in real time, it can sometimes feel more turn-based, which I like. I’m not very experienced in RPG games, so the skill tree, stats, equipment management felt complicated at first, but I’m getting used to them. The quests are nicely varied and generally simple (which I prefer). The sound is great, I love the music on the main menu and also the sounds when you’re swimming underwater. The onlu other downsides so far are the occasional glitches (ladders and swimming in particular) and the menus feel unpolished and a bit clunky (although they are perfectly functional). There’s a lot of gameplay in this game, and although it’ll take me a while to get used to everything, I think the dedication will be well worth it. From the little amount I’ve played so far, I’d give it 9/10
Game Impressions Had an initial 45 minutes on the game now and I am so, so impressed that a game like this can be done on the iphone. It feels very like the Elder Scrolls games, and that's a very good thing. Can't wait to spend some more time with this
crashes for me every time after selecting class. Ive rebooted and reinstalled and its still the same iTouch 3g 32GB
Review Not to promote competitors of TA, but I just finished TouchGen's review of Aralon and it's pretty in-depth. http://www.touchgen.net/aralon-sword-and-shadow-review
Thank you. I totally agree. That doesn't sound bad at all. Thanks again for sharing your impressions.
Game Impressions The game looks great on the iPad with graphics set to high quality. Just one thing though - are the loading and menu screens meant to be iPhone size? They are displaying tiny in the middle of a black iPad screen.
I've downloaded this now and am very very excited! Especially as I'm going away at the weekend for a few days with the mrs and will be far from my beloved Warcraft, and Aralon will help ease the pain. But, is there a serverside save system like Galaxy on Fire 2 or Warpgate? I don't want to start playing on my iPad now, only to have to start again on the iPhone when I'm waiting for the better half to finish trying stuff on. If theres not one, please, implement one soon! I love universal apps but Apple really need to implement a way that saved games can be transferred between devices via iTunes if its not implemented via Plus or whatever by the developer. I've so many games on my iPhone that I don't really play very much anymore, but cant delete as it will wipe my progress. WTB transferable save files.
Have you guys updated your iOS firmware to the newest one. Maybe that's the problem . I have been playing the game in my iPod Touch 3G with the newest firmware and I haven't had a single crash.
