I am lost on the temple looking for the scepter. Third floor is really a maze and I can't find a way to keep going!

@ RshkHsee: I don't think you have to have the books in your possession when going back to Darius. I remember I went to the library, took the books read them, dispose of them and after doing a lot of other stuff I notice that in "the plan" quest I was only missing talking to Darius. So I went back and talked to him and I finished that part of "the plan". So if you read the books just go back and talk to Darius. I am not 100 percent about this but I am pretty sure I did not had the books with me when I went back to Darius because I needed the space and emptied all my slots expect for the basic stuff.

That's correct, you only have to read the book about the Temple of Azra, then go talk to Darius. It doesn't have to be in your possession. With the new update, the book should re-appear on the dusty shelf on the library each time you enter, so if you dropped it you should be able to go back and find it again.

Cold Sands Keep is the building located in the center of Cold Sands Hold. I believe the entrance is on the north side of the building.

Thank you! This is great! I didn't know about the map. Actually I just finished drawing my own, but the one posted is much better than mine, jeje.
This game is really great! I hope the devs are working in other games as good as this one.

Since the latest update, I've been getting 3 skill points and 4 stat points on every level up. Is this correct? I was only getting one of each before the update.

Seems like I'm going to far too powerful with this kind of progression...

I'm still getting 1 and 1 per level with the new update.

On a side note...I have noticed that my characters feel a lot more fluid with there overall movements. Very nice. ;)

I just finished the game with a mage. It was a great game. I will play again as Paladin when more content is added.

Whenever I try to go out the Cold Sands Hold - North Gate, it crashes.
Scratch that, after going to Cold Sands Hold and recruiting the mage mercenary, it crashes whenever I go through any door, but not when using the safety ring. Is it the mercenary taking up too much memory when it tries to follow me through a door?

But still(!!!), I was in a street fight and I knocked out one guy and when I was about to loot him, the target was always locked to another citizen being attacked. I had to move around a bit to find the right moment for the fallen guy to be selected. Looks like there are rooms for improvements.

Just FYI there are a lot of glitches in valemars keep. Spirit wolves falling through the floors, mages shooting with ice spells through the walls, the whole lot.

hmm didn't change anything in Valemar's for this update, so it must have been happening before this one.

chars arm weapons like they are complete amateurs or just too lazy. maybe it's possible to increase the speed of that action or let chars run armed outside of the cities?

    Game Impressions

With the new update, I've finally been able to play Aralon. And I must say that most of the praise that has been heaped upon it in this thread rings true to me.

The landscapes are a bit bare, still, but making them any less so would probably have added significantly to the development process. The graphics are not top of the line for modern iOS games, but again, just like with the landscapes, a more than acceptable compromise. The overarching storyline is weak, and the writing is merely decent, but the sheer amount of storyline content makes up for much of what the writing lacks in originality and quality of drama. So, the general impression is still massively impressive!

Instead, my criticism concerns the lack of a few standard CRPG conventions, mechanics that exist not to make a RPG less hardcore, but because they either are the best representation and emulation of reality, or because they are needed to make the interface (an aspect that doe not have a real world correlation) less cumbersome. Some examples of these:
    • I sometimes get boxed in by my henchmen. The standard RPG faire is to have them back up upon contact.
    • There is no compare mechanism in trade dialogues. This might have made sense if the weapon stats were not visible at all, and had to be discovered through using the weapon (something that would be truly hardcore, and damn fun), but in a game where every weapon is clearly defined by three stats, no compare function just means more clicking/touching back and forth for the user, not an additional hardcore challenge.
    • My henchman becomes selected regularly, just by his proximity to me. Adding an exception to the auto-targeting rules just for the henchman is a rather simple deal.
    • Adding points to stats can sometimes be done erroneously. This is easily avoided by a confirm button/dialogue, another standard RPG convention that exists for a very good reason.
Other than that, I am darned impressed. I must say that I really like the fact that the developers have not been tempted into adding TOO many aid mechanisms of the modern MMO variety (such as marking quests on the map, and thus removing all sense of exploration and the need for conclusive abilities on the part of the player).

For a future sequel/massive content update, I'd really like to see (among many other things) an extended henchman dialogue, allowing simple procedures such as giving them a few combat instructions and changing their equipment (unless they learn to do so on their on, which is more immersive), and having them develop and level up just like the player (all standard RPG NPC mechanics).

Am I correct in guessing that the guilds corresponds to the character classes? The guardians for the rangers, the knights for the warriors, with the guild of magic and the thieves guild being even more self-explanatory? :)

More important question: can I join several of them? Will my progress in the quests of the guilds that do not correspond to my class be hampered or blocked?

Yes, and you are able to do quests for all Guilds concurrently.

    My House
yeah Josh, i was going into the mansion in my drake and fell along the road after the bridge... the most weird thing is that the action button appeared and there was a switch i could use (what!!!??) but then you fall into the nothing, and into the water that leads nowhere, so i had to load a whole lot of times...annoying really... oh and i also noticed that inside, at some points there where no enemies, i walked a bit, and all of the sudden a mage appeared and stunned me...take a look at it please, thank you
