Again, while some optimizations have been made in recent updates, none have made the 2g completely compatible as of yet. However, on some 2g's including mine, the game can be run quite smoothly with very rare lag with some basic changes: - Graphics at lowest, of course - Airplane mode ON - Music off when launching the game EDIT: It should also be noted that I have noticed slightly better performance when my iPod is not charging on a USB. However, I can't really actually tell you how the performance gets better. It just FEELS like it runs better to me. So in short, this was a totally pointless edit!
the next update (beta build- you guys cant play yet) SHOULD help with 2nd gen compatibility, but i havent tried it yet. downloading now though, so ill see.
Personally I'd say the Ranger class is, because it's pretty much a mix of all the other classes. You can wield powerfull swords, use a bow and perform magic attacks.
im proud to say that i have beaten the game on my 2nd gen ipod touch i beat it at level 46 warrior i did all the quests except the stupid glittering sapphires the guy keeps trying to kill me awesome game
Whew, finally beat the main quest! (Shadowspire wasn't as big as I expected!) I can't wait for other expansive games like this in 2011! I've done 19 of the 56 or so quests. Any suggestions for what other things to do in the game? Also, if you select "new game," does it reset your other save slots or can you have more than one character going at a time?
Kill the dragons icefang is the highest level enemy, at level 50! Do the guild quests, the elemental lairs, other side quests along the way. You can have all the slots as different characters if you want, I usually keep two slots for backup though.
Currently on this released version, I experience occasional crashes, laggy gameplay, and poor graphics. Currently on the beta version, I experience no crashes at all, extremely smooth gameplay, and a huge jump in graphics (though they obviously still aren't as good as the Retina display). So yeah, I'd say it's pretty safe to say that the upcoming update will improve the experience for 2nd gen users by A LOT.
I still find time to play this. If you have beaten this, I suggest playing different classes for a change. Mage user sounds big fun.
Cant find Eckar Anyone know where eckar is off the top of there head? I got a quest from them and now I don't remember where to go.
Any idea what the purpose is of Grokk and the other Goblins at the absolute northernmost part of tue desert outlands? Is he a quest NPC that I just haven't started yet?
Can you have animal pets in the game? I had Feskers (from the first quest) following me for the first 5 levels, but then Gnolls killed him BTW are there some other mounts b-sides horse and drake???
Yeah, I wish there would be some more pets in the game. Though I just have the strangest feeling that some are going to be introduced soon

Anyone know when the next update is expected to come out? I'm waiting until its been updated again before I get into this game.
