Project sword is a joke, great engine, amazing graphics, for a turn based gesture fighting game, which sounds suspiciously like drawing shaps on screen to pull of moves when prompted, that's valuable time wasted I could have spent masturbating or picking my nose.
Looks like it will be an action rpg - coming out this holiday season. Checking out the engine now. (just for fun)
By the way, this is what Epic Games says about Project Sword: Source: http://epicgames.com/news/epic-games-brings-unreal-engine-3-to-ipad-iphone-and-ipod-touch Edit: seems like I was a minute late with the news
Yes, they're called iWank and booger flicker, I'm having trouble getting them past the evangelical christians that police the app store though.
So basically learn a new high level lang and rewrite all that was written for the first one? sounds rough and I am guessing no.
how far are you? went to appstore to pick up rimelands this morning! if it was'nt for my kids (and wife) and my education, i would have played it for houres by now! soooo coooool!!!! well....my acuraly wanted to know how far you guys are with this game? im realy looking forward to it, seriosly! i cant wait for this one, i feel like a kid waiting for christmas eave to come!
Tried Epic Citadel. Never thought that much graphics could be possible on my iTouch 3g. Joshua... Please use Unreal Engine in the upcoming Ravensword 2 if possible. When I fired up the Epic Citadel, I was blown away. I was thinking how cool it would have been if Ravensword had that much graphics. If there is anybody out there who havent tries Epic Citadel should do it immediately, coz its that much awsome.
After looking into the Unreal Engine - we'd have to basically start from scratch on the code and totally change the way our art asset pipeline works. It would delay the game by a year at least. Not worth it. Unity 3.0 has Open GLES 2.0 effects like normal mapping (Used in that Unreal demo) its just a matter of using the right tricks to get it to render fast, and having high quality art assets.
So can we expect anything close to Epic Citadel from Aralon in terms of graphics? I am sure Aralon will be strong in gameplay. Can you do a comparison of Aralon with the new tech demo in terms of pure graphics?
I hope the dev team feels flattered. For a 5(?) person dev team to be expected on the same level as a huge company should be flattering. It really shows the community's faith in you, or their wildly unrealistic expectations one or the other. All the screens from Aralon look great! I will be happy to play a game with depth rather than a cutting edge tech demo that doesn't do anything. Thank you for not devoting all of the iPhone's resources to graphical prowess only and thank you for not being swayed by every new thing. We don't want this game to turn into Duke Nukem do we?
