Do you mean does it run better on an iPhone 3G than on the Touch 2G? If that is your question, then the answer is no, as the iPhone 3G is slower than the iPod Touch 2G. I'm not sure if this will run on an iPhone 3G, but you should ask Josh or any other dev of the game about that, because I'm just guessing.
yeah that was my question sorry if i don't speak very well english , i'm french...thanks for your answer Der-Kleine I have a new question now: I want to play to this game without big lags or low graphics. Is the Ipod touch 3G such as good to play to this game or not ? because i'm ready to buy one just for this game but i have no money for iphone 3GS or iphone4G...
If you want to buy a new iPod Touch, wait untill after the Apple Event in 2 days, because they'll most likely announce a new iPod Touch. And as JoshCM said previously, the game should run best on the iPhone 3GS/iPod Touch 3.rd Generation, because they don't have the retina display yet, but are fast, so: Best framerate => iPhone 3GS / iPod Touch 3.rd Gen Best Looks => iPhone 4 / (iPod Touch 4.th Gen?) (because of the higher resolution screen, otherwise it will look the same from what I understand) -------------------------------------------------- Si vous voulez acheter un nouvel iPod Touch, attendre la fin de l'événement Apple en 2 jours, car ils vont probablement annoncer un nouvel iPod Touch. Sorry, some bits it wouldn't translate )
Greetings all, As you probably guessed, we've been very busy lately working on lots of different things. We don't have a firm release date yet other than Fall 2010. Still plenty to do but we have made a lot of progress in the last few weeks. As far as devices goes, we are building the game first for 3rd generation or better devices (iPod Touch 3rd gen/4th gen, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4) These devices will support the full experience of the terrain, sky, and detailed environments. We are planning to at least support the 2nd gen iPod touch as well, (and the iPod Touch 3rd gen 8GB, which has the same architecture as the 2nd gen touch.) The biggest limitations with the old devices is the memory restrictions, so that is the tricky obstacle to overcome. These devices will have to use "toned down" environments in order to be playable.
so If I get an ipd touch 4th gen. I won't have to wait until sometime after the release of the game to have the game optimized for it? It'll be optimized from the get-go? Cool.
The screenshots show that it's optimized for the iPhone 4, and it would be pretty dumb if apple made iPod Touch 4 have a different screen resolution than 960x640 (iPhone 4) or 480x320 (every other iPod Touch/iPhone available now.).
when might we get more info on the game mechanics or see new pics or videos? we're very patient but kind of chomping at the bit.
LOL! You always respond with the best answer. Also i was wondering since theirs many different terrains how do they merge into one and other? Does it go from green forest then boom your in a desert? Or does it gradually change? Maybe next screen shot could show this Also if i remember correctly you guys have decided to add a night and day cycle, so will things like certain quest be available at certain times ect.? and is it just night and day or is their morning, evening, afternoon... Also for the quest are they more like morrowind were the quests were harder to solve because you weren't given direct places to go but just bits of information which was up to you to put together? What about becoming a vampire or a wear wolf are these things possible in the world of aralon? Would be pretty neat and give a lot more flexibility (than their already is) to how you wish to play the game.
Well i'm not sure we can exactly say it's realistic since you can throw fire balls from your hand (magic), and other thing such as elves and what ever creatures were going to run into. But I get your point, and thanks for answering Dev's can you maybe consider this?
I see the whole vampire thing to so specific to Oblivion that I'm not sure it's such a good idea to include it in Aralon -- it might invite "rip-off" comments.
Ofcourse theres a vampire, what would a fantasy game be without one! Btw. Dieing to get my hands on this game, this game seems to represent everything i like about games (supernatual creatures, magic, swords, shields, open World - the latter in specific!!) im being as paicent as anyone Can be, but *biiip* its a tough wait. P.s what are you guys using for 3D modeling? Im a newbee at unity, trying to make som sence out off it but its deficould without any pre-hand experience with pretty much everything! How did you get that good at coding? Im allmost 30 yeats old, am i too late?
