Nooo please don't try your best. Please make the game use all of the resources possible on newer devices. I don't mind if the game looks really good on the 3rd gen devices and like crap on a 2G device, but I would really like the hardware on new devices to be pushed to the limits.
My thoughts exactly. I want new games to push the envelope not accommodate everyone possible. It's like making PS2 games now just because people still might have one.
The visuals we've shown are from iPhone 4 and iPad rez. We aren't lowering the quality for those devices, but we will have to have something that works on 2G or a lot of people will be pissed.
Would it be possible to sell a 2G version separate, so those of us who have newer models (I upgraded to the iphone 3gs for this) can enjoy the game at it's best? I'm not sure how making it compatible for older model devices works so it's just a thought. Other than that take your guys time and keep up with the amazing work and thanks for taking the time to keep us updated! And for those who complain that not everyone has the money to upgrade, i thought I'd let you know I'm a 16 year old teen who isn't spoiled by his parents and managed to get the money to purchase it on my own. I got my 16gb 3GS brand new off of kijiji with a case, screen protector, all accessories + extra and warranty for only 320$.
Im assuming your talking about phone bills, well lucky for us we can jailbreak and unlock our iphones and get a regular 25$ a month plan like myself
This might have already been answered, but will the the iPhone and iPad versions be released at the same time?
well im a 16 year old teen who isnt spoiled. and im poor as SH**. i can not upgrade to anything. also i bet you are not paying rent or house payments, or any bills related to that, so a kid with little to no responsibilities could upgrade but everyone else who has to sh** to pay won't be able to.
This is all such a silly discussion. They can make ONE app that works on 2,3 and 4th generation iPhones, just as most PC games have one downloadable and then have different graphics options. As I remember they did this with Ravensword (Though it auto detected your platform and set settings accordingly) And for the 16 year old boy with the shiney new iPhone 3GS... ITS NOT SHINEY ANYMORE! The iPhone 4 has more RAM and a much higher density screen ect. so you will not get the BEST graphics on your 3GS anyways. According to your logic perhaps they shouldn't even support your "old" device anymore and just support iPhone 4. /rant
Not really... Both devices have the same graphics chip, and with anti-aliasing, you could achieve the same screen object quality as an iPhone 4.
Nope: you are still dealing with 1/4 of the screen density and half the available RAM, as well as with CPU that's nearly half the speed of the one on the 3Gs. It's not all about graphic chips, you know.
