cool pictures - but lets size them down please! otherwise pretty hard to view the thread. getting some good ideas....
@Der-Kleine, I've sworn I've been on that exact trail looking at the exact view the first photo presents to you.
Those were holiday pictures from Colorado so that is possible. Sorry for my lazyness. Atleast tinypic scales pictures that are massive down to 1599*x (the original size of those photos was 43xx*24xx) I'll replace the pictures in that post with links to the pictures now.
Hey all! First post in this thread and, in fact, in the forums - but I've read it all the way through and I'm so excited about Aralon! Having read all the features you're planning, and having seen the screenshots, I can't wait! One topic I was wondering about though, is there a religious / supernatural element? Like priests and chapels for healing and stuff? Also, I'll have a look at some of my landscape shots to see if I have anything to recommend. Cheers, Tim Also, are different genders playable? And what about romance? (lol?) I understand the difficulties of including new features, but was just curious
i think some grottoes would be pretty different, don't recal seing those in oblivion or morrowing. Heres some pictures back when i was on vacation a couple of years ago. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s110/chrisx3000/IMG_2366.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s110/chrisx3000/IMG_2366.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s110/chrisx3000/IMG_2362.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s110/chrisx3000/IMG_2359.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s110/chrisx3000/IMG_2360.jpg and maybe docks with a bunch of boats (obviously fitting the time style of which the game takes place)
I like the first picture! Imagine a cave with something like that at the end where you must row out of it with a boat or something.
The original beta had weather (basically, rain), but no day/night cycle. Not sure if it will be implemented in the new version.
check this stuff out! http://parkerlab.bio.uci.edu/nonscientific_adventures/Sth.%20Coyote%20Buttes.htm
The Cambodian tombs/temples on that same website are particularly nice: they would make great entrances to dungeons.
Here are some other great potential environments from the Parkerlab site. http://parkerlab.bio.uci.edu/nonscientific_adventures/Valley%20of%20Fire.htm http://parkerlab.bio.uci.edu/nonscientific_adventures/Iceland_water.htm Also, I'd love to see a hard to reach, off-shore islet housing a powerful item, guarded by something powerful (Dragon, Gryphon, Roc, Sea Serpent, Feathered Serpent, Simurgh, Sphynx, etc.) Although it's not an environment-related idea, I'd love to see dwarves in the game in some capacity. Lastly, I have an idea for a BIG side-quest. A NPC (whom you randomly meet at the side of a path, where he is nearly dead) gives you a map. The map gradually reveals itself to you, leading you to the homes (lairs?) of several really powerful creatures modeled after mythological gods. Just a random idea.
funny that you mention dwarves... its on my wishlist. there are gnomes already in the game though....
Josh can speak more about it, but my guess is that it would be more about solving environmental puzzles, active combat, and exploration and less RPG -- just like most Zelda games. That could very well just be a passing notion. But clearly Aralon is what RPG fans wanted Ravensword to be in the first place.
