all very true, i forget that ravensword was published by chillingo, which i just finished and is simple yet satisfying, very nice job.

N.O.V.A. 2 is going to be a big competitor as well as Real Racing 2, and i fear the only problem Aralon will face is not enough exposure. December is seeing a ridiculous amount of releases and not only is it hard to get noticed, people have limited money to spend. im not sure why its not being noticed by IGN either, but maybe this next trailer youre working on will help get it get noticed.

no matter what happens though, aralon is in its own league, and is an amazing accomplishment. gameplay, graphics, content, pretty much everything is better than what professionals are putting out. hopefully once it gets out there people notice it (as well as its beautiful price tag) and say "holy S*%T this looking amazing! i can levitate AND smoke a pipe, at the same time?! instant BUY!"

This game is going to do very well, Josh. Better than just top 25.

It's good to not expect too much, it means you're more surprised when it performs better than expected.

The only obstacles in your way toward AppStore domination, next week would be:

Continued success of Infinity Blade, Nova 2 (maybe Shadow Guardian if Gameloft pulls their dual release trick next week too) and Real Racing 2.

Aralon is a fabulous adventure, that quite frankly any rpg fan would be remiss on missing.

I also forgot to mention: you have an upside, which only Infinity Blade shares out of my listed challengers:

iPad compatibility. That's a potential % of 10 million customers that Gameloft and Firemint are neglecting.

Your lucky your new! Yes, it will run Aralon but it has not been completely tested on it. They mainly tested the game on the upper gen hardware but a few people said the 2g ran it just fine. Josh said that it will later release an update for the game to completely support 2g if needed.

    Hope this helps.:):):mad::D

And with this question now getting asked on average about once a page I think I will now stop checking in on this thread until release day (or afterwards).

Congrats on Aralon getting approved Josh (I'm assuming it did). I'm very much looking forward to the 16th.

The Angry Birds Era is OVER! Yesterday, IB knocked AB off the number one spot to take the crown. But come the 16th, there will be a new #1, and its name will be ARALON SWORD AND SHADOW!

    Josh,

You need not worry about the way this game goes. You have an amazing following and it's not just due to the amount of time and effort you put in, it's the fact that you care enough to get the opinions of your fans. The fans are what make or break you. Simply by keeping up with the forums and being active is enough to prove to us how dedicated you are. I rarely see any other developer as involved as the team for Aralon. This game will get the credit it deserves, the fans will make sure of that.

    Instant buy...period.

    Uh Huh...

They listen to the fans and put in a lot of effort huh? Well then how come when the fans ask for ONLINE MULTIPLAYER, they just ignore us? I mean what kind of effort is that? Even Infinity Blade, with it's short gameplay, is getting multiplayer. If you want this to be a true RPG/WoW experience, you NEED to add multiplayer as an update or something. Only THEN will many people appreciate the hard work you've put in. And I can assure you, this would beat every other iOS game to date if you made it an MMORPG. You would make a huge profit. Please respond to this!

  9. Not many people have asked about an online feature, and almost everyone here are fine with it. This was built from ground-up to be a purely single-player RPG. Also, since when did online capabilities (or WoW) define a "true" RPG experience?

why do so many people think multiplayer makes games better? does the elder scrolls have multiplayer? no. do mass effect games have multiplayer? no. i can keep going, but i guess itll be better to just say this. since when is a RPG a TRUE RPG only if it is mulitplayer? never. nuff said.

edit: also, they have listened to us, probably more than they should have. if you stuck around this thread since the beginning, you would know this. so go have fun with your true rpg, infinity blade (LOL), while waiting for its multiplayer update.

Turning Aralon into an MMORPG is not something that we are interested in pursuing at this point. Its easily 6-8 months of work and a BIG CAN OF WORMS. Aralon is more akin to Oblivion, Morrowind, Gothic, and those type of RPG's.
At some time we may do some type of multiplayer arena (Jason and I had discussed that recently) but an MMORPG is not what was intended for this game. While we listen and to and love to incorporate good ideas - that is a very drastic and extremely expensive change.

Also Crescent Moon Games has many other games waiting on the side line to get back in action after Aralon is out. I'm not ready to take an MMORPG plunge - unless someone gives me a TON OF FUNDING to do so.

I personally like single player adventure games the best.

Hope that helps you understand our position.

Stop the Hatin! Aralon is perfect, and yes multiplayer would be nice, but it doesn't need it to succeed.

Josh, don't listen to this idiot. Many people already appreciate it as is (including myself). So go back to whatever you were doing and I feel bad for you to listen to comments like these. Have a nice day!:D:D:D:D

I disagree. I'm sick of the same old arguement with every single RPG that comes out: "THIS NEEDS MULTIPLAYER!!!". A MMORPG isn't something that simple to add in, it needs to be built from the ground up.
Take for example Dungeon Hunter; Instead of adding multiplayer to an exisiting game they made a sequel with co-op multiplayer.

Furthermore, you're in the minority of the people who wishes Aralon to have multiplayer. I'm more than happy to play this as the best single player experience.

I really wanna cuss you out right now, but I don't want to be banned. Don't EVER call me an idiot again. Now, I didn't say I didn't like this game, cuz I will be buying it, but just think, in two or three months, everyone will forget about this game because of its low replay value... just like Ravensword, Avatat, etc.... all great single player games, but once you beat it, you move on. And that's where multiplayer should come in. But since it's not, it will be boring in a few months, and we'll be playing other games instead. I guess I was looking for a WoW like experience on the iOS, cuz I've never played it, but the idea of an MMORPG amazes me, but I guess this isn't it. Maybe Blizzard will see the light and bring WoW to the iPhone... hopefully.

I disagree with your comment. I believe that THIS rpg needs a multiplayer. I cant wait any longer for Gaikai (Not sure whats available on OnLive) or that WoW future clone by Quantum squad. This game itself looks like a WoW single player clone, which is a good thing. So all we need is the multiplayer, then its perfect!

Most people on this thread don't want to turn this into an MMO. What we want is a in depth single player western RPG that we can play on the go. Having an iPod Touch, I can't have Wifi everywhere I go, which kills the whole MMO experience for me, and i'm sure many people agree with me.

Also, crex was right to call you an idiot. Why you would want to delay this game for multiplayer is beyond me.

When the reviews start to appear, I think it would be cool to see a X-Play review.

I'd love to hear what Adam Sessler has to say, you know, if he reviewed iOS games.
