I have this idea for the game. The game could have a dark forest area, and there could be a large, leafless tree, which has a cavern in it. If anyone has seen the films Pan's Labyrinth and Sleepy Hollow you'll know what I mean. And you could add an area inside it, full of mysterious, dark and disturbing elements. I think it could add a darker atmosphere to the game. It's probably a little too late for the devs to incorporate any of these ideas, but I thought I should post it anyway. Either way, I really can't wait for this game. Best of luck to all of the devs, I'm really sure the game will be a great success (for both gamers and yourselves).
I was wondering, as squarezero mentioned before that theres more to the quest rather then fetch 5 of these and bring it back. But does the game involve any puzzle type quest? or riddles you might have to solve to proceed through out the game? Thanks
There's a wide variety of quests in the game, definitely not all fetch and kill quests. There are some light puzzle elements too. For example, there are some dungeon areas where you have to find and acquire a key or activate a certain switch to move forward. There also some physics style "traps" in some dungeons like swinging axes, etc. If you ever played Oblivion you'll be right at home in Aralon.
Thank god, repetive quests can get pretty borring but looks like that won't be a problem with Aralon! And funny you mentioned I'd feel right at home if I've played oblivion, cause when I read the traps part first image that popped in my head was oblivion thanks for the reply always nice knowing the developers interact with the community.
This game looks great! If your not caught when you kill someone or steal something do you still become an outlaw? (sorry if its already been answered)
You could go to the sewers and pay a fee to become a neutral party. Therefore neither thieves nor guards will attack you
I became out an outlaw the other day for the first time. Unfortunately I keep getting killed by city guards before I get to do anything fun.
is there any benefits for being an outlaw? like take on certain quests that were unavailable when you were "good"
There are some quests that you can only do if you are an outlaw. Likewise, there are some quests that are only available if you're a lawful citizen. The benefit to being law abiding is that you can walk around the city and shops without being attacked. It can be tough being an outlaw at a low level. Of course the advantage to being an outlaw is that you can rob merchants and houses for gold and items instead of working for them. It's a different way to play the game. We tried to create open gameplay but with reasonable consequences based on the choices you make.
I will have to double check but you should be able to pick locks and steal if there is no witness nearby.
are there going to be readable lore books, etc. included in the game. One of my favourite things to do in Morrowind & Deus Ex was to read all the in-game books.
In the stores will there be more people in them not just one guy? (example the stores were really small and 1 person was in them in ravensword, great game though.) As you walk in the world will you go from one extreme to another? (like a snow mountain to a wide open plain) thanks
