+1 Even with all the other big games I just bought, I'd drop them all to be able to play this one tonight
So, what OS version is the minimum requirement? And being on Ipod 2g should I pick it up or wait until I upgrade or Aralon gets optimized, whichever comes first?
The iOS version required is just 3.0 for now, so that's easy enough for all devices. Concerning the iPod Touch 2G's, we have several beta testers who reported good play experiences on them, but we haven't tested the game from start to finish yet and optimized everything for the 2G. There is one quest where there are about 10-15 npc's on screen engaged in a massive battle, not sure how that will play out on the 2G, so that is the kind of thing we will be addressing. Right now we are leaning towards just improving support for 2G's to the existing single app, so early adopters who have issues won't have to worry about buying a second app.
I emailed Crescent Moon Games a few days ago regarding this same question. A dude called Russ Menapace told me that they'd devloped Aralon for 3.0 up. Damn happy because I hate 4.0 & am still using 3.1.3.
These are great news! I guess I'll be buying Aralon next week then. It is really nice that after the initial rush to transfer everything to 4.+, the sensible devs still support the 3.+.
Infinity Blade purchased and beat in like 4-5 hours: $5.99, Dungeon Hunter 2 purchased and to be finished over the weekend: $6.99. Waiting with baited breath to play the king of all iOS rpgs known as Aralon............priceless. Can it be the 16th already! Someone get me a time machine.
Ok, thanks. That's good news for me because I was afraid it would require 4.1 or above like a few games which have recently been released.
For me it will be at Christmas, when I will have my iPod Touch 4G It will be my first game on my new iPod
When I get a new job, the first thing I'm buying is an iTouch 4. I love my 2nd gen, but I want to be prepared for the next couple of years worth of games! Like Aralon!
What speech level would I have to have to convince you to consider releasing Aralon early? Like today early? /nerdyfalloutreference
I am definitely buying this when it comes out. It seems like a solid 3D RPG with a good storyline (which is really important to me). I wonder how much there is to explore outside of the main quest. Obviously they said there will be side-quests but I'm wondering if there will be secrets and locations maybe not even related to any kind of quest or task.
Josh showed a little easter egg/secret earlier in the thread, even included a pic. Has to do with a popular book/movie series. Must say its pretty cool, and i hope theres a good amount of other hidden stuff for us to find (underwater secrets maybe?). And also glad they updated the thread title with the release date, now maybe people will shut up about it and accept it.
Underwater treasures would be a definite plus for me. Also, I'm not sure if this has already been answered but does anyone know if there is jumping in the game (I think there is flying because of mounts though?)?
