It has an uphill battle in dethroning SF4 in my book. Capcom offers amazing support in terms of updates, even a year in. With possibly more to come. We'll see how Crescent Moon does.
Yet, SFIV is very much a game that could benefit from retina support and an iPad/hd version. Have been waiting since around April to no avail. Crickets: chirp. Chirp.
I could have sworn I read a preview somewhere that said it wouldn't run on 2nd gen machines. Of course, now I can't find it so it's possible I just made it up!
The hd version is universal (3G devices and above). Aralon hd does run so far, without issue on 2g devices. Please note: however, it was not extensively tested for older iOS devices. That hd version should work fine. If this is an issue for older device owners: A specialized version should release a little later specifically for 2g devices. Either way, you should be okay.
Coolest Possible Easter Egg: I want to be able to play a portion of the game with the original, pre-Crescent Moon graphics (where it looked almost like King's Field on the original Playstation [which is not a compliment]).
Come on! It's exciting! It's like the night before your birthday (depending on how old you are tho), or christmas eve! Or whatever your country does!!
so my question is, if the hd version you speak of does not work well on 2g devices and another version is released, what happens to those that buy the hd version but can't play the game? Do they get the new version for free? Do they get reimbursed for the hd version? I don't want to buy the hd version only to find out that I have to shell out another 7 bucks to get the version that actually works.
The hd version works but was not heavily tested on, to get the version that is specifically suited for 2G you should probably wait.
I think people with 2nd-gen machines should get a 50% discount for having such loyalty to their devices! And another 50% discount if they have already bought Rimelands...you know, for company loyalty!
