Yes. I am stupid. Because, the only person affected by the price of the app is me. Not the developers who I would like to release future updates, not the artists who put it good time making the exceptional graphics, not the programmers who worked really hard to squash the bugs. If I am stupid for wanting to support independent developers bringing a new level of entertainment to the app store, then I'm a complete fool.
I've decided I'm going to buy this game. If it's 59p (99c) I'll buy it. If it's £8 (about $14 I guess) I'll buy it. If this game delivers, you can name your price. On another note, here's how things stand in terms of excitement: My birthday<Christmas<the day Aralon comes out.
10 bucks? meh. that's nothing. its about time we get real games into the appstore. and 10 bucks is still cheap compared to other handheld games out there. look at gta chinatown. 10 bucks. and how much did it cost on the ds and psp? its still a lot cheaper with the exact same content. im all up for games catering to console gamers. 10 bucks is a pretty decent price to pay tbh.
$12.99 launch sale, $19.99 pricing afterwards. Do it, begin raising the App Store standard and pricing.
I thought this was in the "iPhone and iPod Touch Games" section for a moment and I got really excited.
Yes, you are a complete fool. I don't understand why you would pay $15 for a game that should be sold for $7. The iPhone isn't the PS3 or XBOX, so why would you pay more? You are just giving them a bigger profit, for a game you could get for half as much. Don't you get it? They want as much money as they can get. SO it's better if they sell it for less, so more people who don't like to spend loads of money will buy it, and therefore, it will make more money overall. If they raise the price for apps, then how are the iPhone prices any better than any mobile platfom? What makes them special (in terms of price)? If you want to support them, you have to appeal to the majority of people, who want to pay less for high quality games. And if you want to support them, donate them. But $15 is a lot less than however much they could make by getting people who buy inexpensive apps. Just think about that.
We need to chill down this thread. And on the price issue...I don't give a damn! If a game is great and $7 well I just spent a great $7. And if a game is $15 bucks and great well I just spent a great $15. And I know I'll get hate for this one but even if this game is $15 I highly doubt it will set a standard. Because everyone still doubts the iphone's abilities as a gaming device and they won't pay $15. I will but most won't. And the fact that people are saying a game doesn't cost enough...please people let's grow up a little.
Wow... I think we all need to take a deep breath, forget about price and focus on the *real* question: Fargoal is getting skeletons in wizard hats, 100 Rogues is getting a skeleton with a dagger in her skull... will Aralon further innovate in the area of skeleton millinery????!?
The highest I am willing to pay for a game on the iOS is $10. It may be worth more but with most new games priced at about $7 it seems high to pay more than $10. Now if a lot of games started charging higher then I would pay higher, not that I want to. If games want to start charging more they need to improve in many ways, like better bug testing, be longer, and in general higher quality. I for the record would love to see more fully developed games like Modern Combat 2 and many others even if I had to pay more to get them. Again I'm speaking about all apps not this game specifically.
I usually don't buy games over $7(and I think I never have), But this would be an exception. Willing to go up to $15.
Combat any devs, beta testers, or anyone know if combat will be player controlled real time like ravensword or is it more along the lines of world of warcraft click and attack? :] either way, looks like an amazing gamee
You're lame !!! Why don't we raise the prices of everything. Blu-Ray discs are far more valuable than $20 to me, therefore everyone should pay $100, because I think it's worth it. Who in their right mind would ask to pay more for stuff. Just be happy with whatever price they charge, and very grateful if it's less than what you expected to pay.
Hey Josh did you choose the 2nd gen and iPad testers yet? I saw pacific's sig. It sucks if I didnt get in again but I guess I might live. Should I pm you instead if posting here?
1. Most people don't realize, that they "are" willing to pay any price for something that is new, and highly anticipated. 2. Most people also forget, that after the magic has worn-off from playing a few times, they kinda wished they payed a little less. ************EX: 3. If Aralon launched at $19.99, and then went on sale a week later for $9.99, I guarantee that everyone who bought it at the full price would complain about it. HIGHER PRICES DOESN'T EQUAL BETTER QUALITY !!! 4. If you want a better experience for iOS gaming, just ask for it. Any idiot knows that cheaper prices = more sales. If you continue to support the BIG-developers and pay what they ask, they will continue to provide. Competition will take care of the rest. Quality will go up because of competition, not pricing. 5. Be careful what you wish for, because you may just get it. Soon, like with iTunes, prices will go up, and the quality may remain the same. Don't tell developers how high you are willing to pay, just what you expect from them. They will price accordingly with market demand.
In my opiniom i would think one of the reasons people want Aralon to charge more is to set standards. If they're capable of selling Aralon for say 15$ and make good profits it'll encourage other devs to create bigger, fullsized games since it'd benefit them other wise what's the point in creating fullsized games and only be able to sell them for the same price as a game with half the content. But that's my opinion... either way, im making this purchase no matter the cost. Also keep up the hard work devs and beta players!
