I wish we knew the price, expect closer to launch.

Just figure closer to the 9.99 price.

I too am interested in Lego Harry Potter, as well as Darklord.

I'm holding tight to my iTunes credits, as somethings are worth waiting for.

Namely Nova 2, Aralon, Infinity Blade and Battleheart.

I have bought sooooo many apps since getting the iPad on April 3rd, I was so excited for launch day delivery I phoned UPS to verify that Saturday delivery was available in my area.

Since April, I have probably spent 600 dollars or so on iTunes...kind of addicted, lol!

I am starting to simmer down and not buy everything and only purchase what I really feel is worth it. Been burned on iPad AppStore launch and realized unfair price gouging.

My point is, do you reallllly need Lego Harry potter, or are you being impulsive? I myself have a few games I never finished (iron man 2, broken sword, zombie infection, cut the rope) so I've begun to just finish those vs. Hoarding apps I'll never use.

Wait for what you really want, buy the rest later and probably on sale. You'll thank me later.

I know i do the same things as you and i am simmering down! I am spending ALOT less latley, my impulses are very strong and harry probably will end up in the trash so i will wait! A couple days ago i bought to many bad games from my impulse :/ i have sent a report to apple for a refund :/ doubt ill get it....

Anyway if each area is 24 minutes across and there are ?6? Areas
Thats 164 minutes to walk across the gane!

One practice is wish would carry over from the console world, are release dates. I've always been the kind of gamer to preorder big releases I'm waiting for.

I also keep them as mini bookmarks on my calendar. I love gaming, so release dates I look forward to. For example if Mass Effect 2 were released in January, I would purchase that and already be excited for March, when title B were releasing.

Anyhow, I wish AppStore developers inherited development schedules, like console developers. Delays happen. However, they delay a game and then issue a new release date.

I don't understand why even, Gameloft does not make their release dates public.

Go to any Gamestop, you'll notice a calendar with important release dates above the register. Or read Gameinformer, you'll see them there too.

Why can't AppStore developers even give a ballpark figure. Like, 2nd or third week of December, as examples.

Or: "Nova releasing mid December", or pending any unforeseen delay: " Aralon will be hitting the AppStore the week before Christmas", is that so hard? I'm sure people would be relieved and there'd be a lot less frantic, inquisitive posts in the world.

    Sorry. Long winded.

I just don't get it. I hate uncertainty and I just like planning. Maybe that's why this peeves me so.

My biggest peeve is Infinity Blade and it's "holiday" release...well which holiday? Xmas? Thanksgiving? Channukah? Kwanza? Could they be any less specific?! It's not totally fair to an audience, which you want to spend money on your product, that they keep these things so secret.

Agreed i mean Cmon why is this so private????!!!
Also why is pricing so private aswell??????? I mean cmon! People have money they want to spend but they are not sure if they should because a game coming out soon doesnt have a price yet and they want to be able to pay for that aswell!

Resist those spending urges. I doubt you'll get a refund. Kind of like buyer beware. But you've learned a lesson.

I remember I bought a painting app (I'm actually a stellar artist, that's why I got into doing hair...make a living while being creative) and it was so terrible I deleted it after about 7 minutes. Worst 5 bucks ever spent. Seriously.

But, Lego Harry potter will still be in the AppStore a month from now. If after you've bought what you waited so long to enjoy, you still want it, get it then. Guaranteed you will have moved on and forgotten about it, so it really wasn't worth getting in the first place. Not for 10 bucks.

It's hard to say. I think Infinity Blade will display superb graphics, even usurping the recently released Rage. Epic's Unreal 3 is a powerhouse.

    Gameplay, I couldn't say.

I have watched both of Aralons videos: gameplay taster and their reveal trailer, too many times to count.
The environment looks inviting and varied. The quests seem like fun. Who couldn't love a dog named "Feskers", lol.

I don't know if there will be more than fetch quests, an actual main story arc, missions like those in the vein of the Dark Brotherhood quests in Oblivion...several of which were rather entertaining:You had to crawl into an attic and unscrew a taxidermy head, to fall on a sleeping person, or kill off with poison apples, members of the dark brotherhood...one by one.

I don't know if anything of that variant is included.

When it comes to Infinity Blade, what we do know is that there will be item upgrades, spells and sword fighting. When you think about the sword fighting, it sounds rather deep. If they swing left, you swipe left to counter/parry. Or draw the symbol of the spell to cast a spell.

There is a realm to explore and villains to vanquish...not just the bosses in the trailer. There will be: upgrades, multiplayer modes, new armor, new areas, bosses and weapons all releasing as dlc sometime after. For free. Epic is committed to supporting it after release, they say.

We don't know how long the game is, as they haven't released that info. I'm hoping at least a 5-6 hour campaign.

That would put it in line with a Call Of Duty campaign length - and people still buy those games for the campaign - because they are so surprising, intense and off the wall. I loved both the Black ops and modern warfare 1 campaigns. Modern warfare 2 was to convoluted to follow.

I can say, without being a beta tester or knowing a lot...Aralon will probably be a camapign you could enjoy and find much to do during the journey. Infinity Blade will probably be more action packed, but still great nonetheless.

My only fear with Aralon will be that the world will seem empty. I fear few citizens will be living in Aralon. Like 4 people in a big town....I just hope its not all landscape with nothing or nobody in it. I hope it's not a lonely world.

The same could ring true for Infinity Blade as well, a lonely journey with few moments of excitement in between the silence.

Who knows, other than Epic and Crescent Moon? But for some reason, they're rather quiet.

9.99 seems the most reasonable. I feel, if the feedback is positive...they canalways up the asking price soon after, and say 9.99 was introductory.

I feel this game is going to be worth more to m, than 9.99. But what is worth enough to me, may be worthless to another.

This game is going to assuredly rock!

However, Crescent Moon is not Epic Games, nor Sega or Square Enix. Without the brand recognition, the sad part is...they most likely would not succeed with a price too high.

Well, regarding release dates, I've been playing video and computer games since I was a kid and one thing that I've always read about is how much most of the small game companies hate release dates.

When you don't give a release date, but you do provide feedback on your current development (like Josh is doing) then it keeps excitement up but you since you haven't committed to any particular date you still have the option to continue development until you think all of the bugs have been worked out and you've playtested it to your satisfaction - in other words, you've released a quality product.

If you do give a release date but have to make the decision to slip then everyone hates you for it.

So you get complaints either way and many developers from what I've seen over the years (at least, in my opinion, the really goods ones) refrain from giving concrete release dates so they can instead focus on just releasing good games (which I prefer).

I could be wrong but I get the impression that a lot of the push for release dates stems mainly from the big publishing houses that are trying to push their dev teams into releasing their next big cash cow in time for the holidays or some other time of year to help show good profitability for that quarter's earnings. That also explains why some games still get released on their advertised release date but can be buggy and feel a bit half-baked and should have been in development longer rather than get released.

I think some famous Japanese console game designer had some saying like (and I'm paraphrasing here) "People will forgive a game that is late, but a bad game once released is always a bad game." I can't remember who its attributed to but I think it was even Shigeru Miyamoto himself?

Anyway, Josh - take your time with this game if you need to. I think you know that already but I'm sure the fans will wait... I for one would rather wait and have something that much better than get something less than stellar only to have it in time for Christmas. Um, not that I *want* to wait any longer than necessary... :D
