You should work something out for your SouL Engine to be used in a Crescent Moon game. It really is a great engine, pushing high quality textures and particle effects at a high framerate. Also, Crescent Moon, you know you want to publish Ryan's Mission Europa .
Lol. As a person who does multimedia work for a living, I think most of what I saw in that gameplay preview looked just fine. If he were to try to tweak everything that has been nitpicked so far, the release date would probably have to be pushed back to Spring 2011 sometime.
He doesn't actually walk. To simplify things (I assume), they've created a stride that can pass for either. Frankly, once you've played the game for a bit, you don't even notice it.
I would just like to say to everyone at Galoobeth and Crescent Moon, excellent job! This game looks and plays awesome. Thank you for the gameplay video Josh. You guys are amazing. You have promised so much during the past few months and it's obvious that you have delivered. This game will be revolutionary for the iOS platform. Don't be at all surprised when you see all those 5 star ratings, not to mention dollar signs. You guys deserve to be rewarded for all of your hard work, and especially for keeping us all so well informed. Thank you! I can't wait to get my hands on this!
To add unto, I would agree with getting the game out 2-3 weeks before the holidays. My logic being submitted in time to Apple, as well as wanting to capitalize on work and student vacations. Most schools, are on holiday right until after New Years. Most rpg demographics skew teen to early-mid twenties. If you're to sell a boat load, they'll want something with depth to play. This game fits the bill and the fact it'll take time to complete, the best time to engage the buyers would be right before or during the Xmas vacation time. Gives people time to savor and enjoy the title, plus purchase and have time to put into it. It'd be a shame to release a gamer game, with gamers not enjoying it as much, simply by not having the time to invest in fully playing the shit out of the game. Also, see my suggestions in my quote :0)
I think the animations look greatly improved from ravensword though the main characters run still feels a little stiff, that's my only main complaint.
Who agrees with me that this game should be released at a $6.99 launch sale to celebrate the holidays and a year and a half of hard work. Aside from that, this game looks AMAZING! It is the longest upcoming game I have ever waited for and haven't minded because of how polished it looks. The new gameplay video makes me want it even more now. Nice job Crescent Moon for making a phenomenal game and I can't wait to buy it. Good bye Angry Birds, Hello Aralon!
No less than 9.99, for sure. Though, I don't think the majority of the readers here would be opposed to paying 11.99+. I certainly would. I just hope Aralon receives more support than Rimelands. I still have yet to experience the "end" of Rimelands. You guys have been working so hard on Aralon, I want to know if bugs, fixes, and general issues will be addressed more promptly than with Rimelands.
Rimelands is a seperate team (Dicework) and they are working as fast as they can to get the bugfixes/universal update finished.
I think at least it's first week, it should have an introductory price point of 7.99/non hd or retina and 9.99/iPhone 4 and iPad Or just between 7.99-9.99 for any version. They've worked hard and deserve far more for a price point. I'm just low balling the price point because lower introductory price would attract a lot of sales. Reviews and word of mouth will carry the title long after. The other aspect to consider is the AppStore has a far larger user base than this site or these threads. Those people will know nothing of the game besides the screenshots in the AppStore. They might be hesitant on a pricier purchase, not knowing about Aralon...not knowing all that we have come to know about Aralon. The average customer might believe its all graphics and nothing more, therefore willing to pass on a purchase.
This is the game that Ravensword wanted to be but just didn't even come close to doing. God, what a boring waste of time that game was. As a big RPG nut, I'm totally looking forward to this. I'm looking forward to this more than Infinity Blade which, to be perfectly honest, looks dull.
A Higher Price for the retian version?! WHY would you want that? I mean, it's alot harder to change a game for the iPad I guess, because there you have to do more than just make everything twice as big in each direction (4:3 screen instead of 3:2).
And why should retina be cheaper than an iPad version? Sure an iPad itself costs more, but the purchase incentive was the screen size. The screen is as standard to the iPad as the screen is as standard to an iPhone. So why should people pay more for an iPad version, exactly? The one justified instance was where the ipad version of reckless racing, came with added tracks for the iPad - but it cost a couple bucks more, too. I hate being price gouged for high resolution apps...when iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4 owners are not. Yet those retina screens are a tad sharper, as the overall screen size is compressed in comparison to iPad screen size. So I don't get it... Just charge more for retina/iPad and less for non high res.
