@JoshCM REQUEST FOR BETA Oh wait, this isn't Twitter. BETA!!!!!! I got the test. So many people want to be in the beta that would follow the request not to ask, you wanted to find the miniority that wants to play the game so much that they go against your request typed in capital letters not to ask. Well, I'm the first.
I wouldn't actually accept a beta version of this game if I was offered one. I don't beta test games because I want to play the finished product and be amazed
lol. and great to hear re: beta test! I would say I can't wait but I obviously can, as there isn't much of an alternative. looking forward to release
I hope cleverness in a thread I have posted a lot of good posts in before isn't part of your definition of infractions. A thread about an upcoming game can be a little fun, but now it's going off-topic after some on-topic cleverness.
The thing to keep in mind is that beta testing is a favor you do for a developer, not the other way around. I much prefer to play a finished game, too, but I also appreciate helping out folks who'd put so much on the line to craft an excellent game.
Too often people don't think about it that way. I've been testing a few games (only one for iPhone) and when talking about that on the forums people are more interested in getting their hands on a new product instead of actually trying to find out what to improve in the game.
Yeah, I understand that. But there are so many other people wanting to beta test, I just let them do all the work. They're happy, developers are happy, I'm happy
Hey everybody, I compiled a list of details I've found about the game from various sites and what I felt was safe to assume from the trailer. I make no allusions to the validity of these, it's simply information I've come across and I*thought it might help users on topic. -10 times as large as Ravensword -Can double tap to move instead of using the d-pad -Over 30 hours of gameplay -Aralon has been in the works for a year and a half -Customize your characters appearance, dude -weapons can be imbued with magic or magic enchanted weapons - Warrior, Ranger, Rogue and Mage - 3 Playable Races: Humans, Elves, and Trolls - A primary quest and multiple, optional side-quests - Comprehensive Inventory System -Awesome nose picking - Battle various enemies that use different fighting tactics -game can be played in first or third person - Faction system, herb gathering, crafting potions and magical items, dual-wielding, lockpicking and more -character can swim - Acquire a mount, horses and dragons, for fast travel throughout the kingdom -Currently there are 529 different items -A toolbar at the bottom of the screen contains buttons for the skills youve learned -can hire a henchman who will help you in battle -every class has separate skill trees -you can pickpocket NPCs and visa-versa -there will be actual cut scenes -elemental familiars are available
Great list, Pretty much everything seems true from the stuff I think or know, though I thing the game has been in development for more than one and a half years.
I only know that the development of the game started before CM started making Ravensword (and yes, I do mean Ravensword as in the one that has been released for about a year of so.)
What is the dialog system like - are there going to be choices and consequences in the dialog? Super happy to hear this is at beta
I just put that because I couldn't remember what else there was... oh yeah, I think Jason wanted to add trapping. I'm not sure if he's going to have time to put it in though.
You might want to be careful about adding so many features and systems, as it could cause a cranial exothermic expansion (BLOWING FRICKIN MINDS!) I do like the thought of trapping though: character could trap animals-trapping animals makes me think of skinning for pelt-skinning for pelt leads to selling-that indicates an entire economic a system-and that is even more awesomeness.
