Alright I'll buy that Games I'm looking forward to: Pocket Rpg, Ravensword 2, Aralon, Reckless Racing, Dungeon Hunter, Dungeon Legends, Badcompany, Forgotten Memories, Dead Space? That's a just a list for me. Does anyone know about underworlds 2?
Mage: "You don't frighten us, English pig-dogs! Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person! I blow my nose at you, so-called Arthur king, you and all your silly English "kniggits"! *Blows raspberries at them*" Rogue: "What a strange person." You just gotta love Monty Python & the Holy Grail.
My favourite part is where the french say "Fetcher a vache." "What?" "Fetcher a vache" and then the cow comes flying out of the castle! Such a great film. Is there a cow-cattapult anywhere in Aralon?
Yeah, that is definitely one of my ALL time favorite movies. And I must say that I'm going to have to say +2 to a cow-catapult. I guess you could just call it a Cattlepult.
I have been a fan of the Elder Scrolls series since I first installed Arena by floppy 16 years ago. I have played through all the main games, as well as Battlespire (unfortunately I missed Redguard ). The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind plus expansions was for me the ultimate Elder Scrolls game - even though it is far from perfect without mods. The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - which I played and beat as well as with the Expansions suffered from streamlining the quest system, and world design. The actual combat, stealth, and magic felt much more natural than it did in Morrowind, but at the expense of a unique world to get lost in. It was a good game, but trash compared to Morrowind. Kind of like Deus Ex and DX: Invisible War. IW was good, but it never even came within the shadow of the first game. Fallout3 was an excellent game that suffered from some of the same things I dislike about the Gamebyro engine used in Oblivion. Also the characters/storyline felt shallow compared to the first two Fallout games.
What's ridiculous is, calling Oblivion trash. You can have your gripes with the world not being to fancy for your stile, fair enough. But trash? The game equivalent of trash would be Mario's Tennis for the Virtual Boy, not a game which was critically acclaimed (about as much as Morrowind) and was/is loved by a lot of people. As i said i think it's okay for this guy to have his own opinion, but an "old" gamer, stuck in the past, should not think he speaks for everyone.
Trust me it's a lot better and more comfortable playing games on the iPad than a phone. Games like this should be exclusively designed for it. Plus it has more horsepower. And I doubt it will be anything like morrowind due to the size restrictions imposed by apple. Morrowind was multiple gigs in size I don't even think thus will be over 150 mb.
As I don't own an iPad, I can't comment about the experience, but more horsepower? If you think about it, its specifications aren't as much bigger as its screen.
I'm not sure if it still has better specs but it did before the iPhone 4 came out or when it launched. Many iPad games have not only better graphics than the iPhone versions but other features added in. It's also really comfortable to hold and light and much more enjoyable due to bigger screen. Eyes don't have to strain as much and you can see better detail. Also on some games like pizza boy you don't have to worry about your hands getting in the way of the view due to larger view and space.
The iPhone 4 has twice the amount of RAM that the iPad has and almost the same among of pixels, just compressed onto a smaller screen. The graphics in Epic Citadel are substantially better on the iPhone 4, the developers had to reduce the texture quality for the iPad version because it couldn't cope with only 256 MB of RAM. The retina display also makes it easier to see detail, even though it's a smaller screen. I find the border around the iPad too big to play Action/FPS games and also I find it much less comfortable because it's heavy, it get's especially tiring when playing games using the accelerometer. I wouldn't trade my iPhone 4 for an iPad, even of someone payed me.
long time gamer, not "old" gamer. What's ridiculous is getting upset because somebody is calling a piece of digital entertainment trash. Seriously I was not trying to offend you personally - but I stand by what I said. I try not to get taken in by "Critical Acclaim" either - I mean Avatar is critically acclaimed as well, and that was a shit movie in my honest opinion. By the way I never said I spoke for everyone. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I should probably get back on topic When it comes to the quest system in Aralon, is there going to be a compass system like Oblivion/Fallout3, will you be able to turn it off?
