older devices I'd been wondering when would you make it playable on ipod 2g, I know it works, I've played it in my iTouch 2g, but the crashes make it impossible to continue...would this be fixed someday?
I hope the 2g support will come out on an update, or that they release a SD Aralon so we with older devices can experience the game as is. But I have a question, ¿ are my crashes when loading just because it's a 2g or its a game bug or something?
To clear up things, the developers have said they will now expand the HD version to accommodate 2nd gen, but their priority currently is to maximize performance on newer devices first. I believe after that, they'll move on to maximizing performance on the 2nd gen. And for any 1st gen users, I'm not sure about the SD version. I really doubt that version will come out now just for that single first generation of devices barely anyone uses now, but it might still be a possibility. And of course, if they fail to get the HD to work better for the 2nd gen, SD still might be coming.
Item sets would be nice. I know it's not an original idea, but the basic concept is simple enough (and exists in many RPGs and MMOs already). For example, item set pieces could be added to boss drops or given as quest rewards at the end of specific quest chains outside the main storyline. There could be armour sets, dual weapon sets (primary and secondary matched pairs), sword & shield sets, pointy hat & staff sets, etc. The basic idea, for those who are unfamiliar, is that you get a unique set of named items that form a set of 2 or more items. Equipping more than one piece of a set gives a set bonus. Equipping the full set gives a bigger bonus, e.g. attribute bonuses, unique skill associated with the set, etc. If there were several sets per character class, to cover level ranges such as 20-30 and 30-max (for example), this would be pretty good. As well as actually having the items, including the sets would introduce: - New bosses (maybe) - More reasons to explore and kill stuff - Something else to do - collecting sets - on top of killing & questing - Another way to buff your character or acquire new skills While I'm at it, another unoriginal idea would be a chest for sharing items across your different characters. It's a shame, playing a mage, to get a huge, powerful axe in loot and just sell it for some gold that you don't really need while your warrior character could have made really good use of it. This would be even more useful if item sets were introduced as random boss drops...
invert camera would be good, But I'm getting used to it though... Oh yeah... the MAP! except the mountain pass, the other maps are just so difficult to read. I can't determine where's the path and where is the cliff.. mountain, etc.... so I always blindly ride my mount and sometimes see my map just to check if my direction is right.
1. very true! please make the road details visible and easier on eyes, because i can't see the road, only guessing and often check my map to see if my direction is right or wrong. 2. please make loot window auto close after i press "take all" because it is really useful. 3. sometime after i finished the quest, i have to speak to someone (let's say JOE) to complete the quest, but sometimes i forgot the location of JOE, please add the location of JOE in the quests menu like "speak to Joe (located in "Fine staves and bows") after you kill a dog"
Considering the size and depth of the game, I'd love to see treasure hunting be added into the game. Whether it be a more intellectual hunt using vague hints, tips, puzzles, etc., or the physical hunt where you fight monsters (and of course a combination of both), that would be really cool. It would also give an extra incentive just to explore the world a bit.
Great job! The first "real game" in the AppStore, I think! I'm really enjoying it, thanks! But there are (of course) some bugs and other issues....here's one: When I got to Callaheim for the first time throug the South Gate, I accidentally fell into the small river and had a hard time to get out of it, not only because there is only one exit, but also beacause of the bugs that accur when you swim/run(!) through the part in the middle of the river and that make the graphics shake around. Here's a screenshot: So my suggestion would be a) to fix this bug and b) to put a fence around the river, one can still jump into it from a bridge if his or her biggest wish is to swim in that river. By the way, I love the theme music in Callaheim...but I really dislike the beginning of the "Inside a building" -theme music
Suggestions... First off: I really like this game! Here are some suggestions that I think would help to make the game even better (some have been posted here before): - limit respawning of enemies (especially in sight) - rework the ladder climbing animations (problems seen best in Uthu's Fortress when assisted by border guards, enemies and border guards stack up at times at the lower end of ladders, etc.) - rework detection of enemies (in Uthu's Fortress for example again: when standing on a higher level than enemies on can still detect and fight them with a melee weapon) - improve enemy AI (in crypt or temple enemies are falling into ditches / lava when trying to walk towards the character) - improve skill trees (I play a ranger, but had pretty much stopped using skill points after maxing out Power Attack 3. The other skills seem pretty much useless... At Uthu's Fortress I invested in Lighting Strike but found that not really helpful either...) - fix auto selection of closest enemy (sometimes other enemies are attacking while my original target steps back and make me auto-change to the bow...) - disallow looting when there are still enemies alive in close proximity... - disallow talking to an ally when enemies are still alive in close proximity... - rework enemy detection of allies when enemies are on the other side of walls (Uthu's Fortress top level shows this nicely right after crossing the bridge the group of followers got stuck because of two orcs on the other side of the wall...) - make traders restock their selections - allow rebuy at sale prices - allow sale of stacked items - improve handling of bow / melee weapon switch... the current solution is no good... I'm actually considering getting rid of the bow to minimize the problem... - improve handling of arrows (as a ranger the character is supposed to be an expert at handling these tools, having to equip the arrows each time after the torch got auto mounted again is cumbersome and seems unnecessary...) - if an automap would be considered too "easy" on could make it show only the parts that the character has already seen... That's it for now! Thanks for putting all that work into this and for listening to the community! D.
I'm sure this has been mentioned before but the ability to buy homes would be cool. I know you have one back in taryn ridge but it's a bit lacking and it would be cool to be able to customize it. Also just a quick question I remember in a video smoking your pipe made you fly? what happened to that
@eusti: I agree with the points you made, apart from one: Rebuying stuff at sale prices would be too easy. One has to think about it before selling his equipment.
actually you make stew to make you fly, or wear helga's ring. pipe smoking just refills your mana. like in real life.
*Nod's gravely in agreement* **Shuffels about and lights his pipe** ***Staring smugly at the screen now*** ****MANA IS FULL**** = Life is Good !!!
Could we have better lighting indoors? I find most of the houses to be too poorly lit, especially the inn corridors!
I've noticed this too. It was at the pauldrons and helms shop in W. Callaheim IIRC. I noticed, like, all the helms were 810 gold, regardless of the defense rating. Something like this. Please investigate!
First of all, this is, in nu mind, the best game for the iphone! Im playing as a ranger, and there is one thing that should be fixed: the cost of arrows. They feel like a luxuary ware, which in my mind they shouldn't. I think one or at the most two gold pieces should be the cost for an Wooden Arrow. Otherwise, congratulations to an awesome game
Armour/weapon prices are certainly a bit odd and all seem very low. I wondered at first if it was so that the equivalent items for cloth/leather/plate (or whatever the materials are) were all priced the same so a mage would be paying the same as a warrior for the equivalent item, but that just doesn't seem to work out when you see the prices. Also, I can't see how anyone would reach the stable outside Callaheim for the first time without enough money to buy the best horse. The prices could be spread out a lot more, with the most expensive horse at least high enough to be something big to aim for rather than to just pick up on your first visit. In the same general topic, quest reward xp can get a bit extreme. For example, I levelled from 27 to 31 cashing in a single quest because the reward was 50,000 xp. It wasn't a very hard quest. I don't mind this, but it probably needs a bit of balancing. Either make the quest harder by raising the level of the target or drop the xp reward considerably. Sorry, that sounds like petty whining about trivia. It's not, honest, I just thought I should mention it. The game is, of course, bloody brilliant and I can't play it enough. I have a warrior on the go (on my iPad) and a mage on my iPod touch. Maybe I should mention that I have absolutely no crashes at all on the iPod touch (3rd gen, 32gb, latest os, latest version of Aralon) but I get regular crashes out of the game on the iPad when zoning (64gb, latest os version, latest Aralon version). Neither device is jailbroken or otherwise fiddled with. Hmmm ... if you need someone to test the same thing on two different devices at the same time, I'd be willing to help if you tell me what needs to be tested. Just a thought...
