Hi all! Is anybody except me experiencing crashes with AppSniper? I had it running several times after the last update, but I'm unable to start it even after the occassional reboot of my iPotch...
I updated it a wile ago and it crashes if I use it for more than ten or fifteen min. But I can always starts fine.
Version 1.6 had an issue where it could run into a memory overwrite situation if you hadn't checked in a couple of days or more. This has been addressed in 1.7, and it should be a LOT more stable because of that. We highly recommend updating to 1.7. Crypton: If you just updated to 1.7 and are seeing these problems, please email us at our support email address. We check forums occasionally, but the best place to get support and have your issues resolved is to email is at our support address. If you're running into issues even after a full power shutdown and restart, then I would suggest deleting the app from the touch and redownloading and reinstalling it. It's possible that something got corrupted during the update from iTunes. If you have many snipes, then go to the config tab and "backup to server" first. This will save all of your snipes/watches/ban lists onto our server, and then after you reinstall the SW, you can simply "restore from server" to get back your settings.
I think I can clarify a little bit. In the hotel AppSniper worked perfectly. At my customer I'm behind a proxy with proxy.pac file. It seems that's the reason why AppSniper does not even gets the connection to its server. I will contact support.
People have been using the term for a while. I think it sounds silly (sounds like iPooch or iPouch), like a fat belly. Just say iTouch.
Appsniper been crashing on me much more often than usual lately. Sometimes it crashes even before it completely loads. Sometimes crashes while i'm scrolling in the New Apps category. Running Version 1.7 Anyone else having issues? Thanks.
This is rediculous. Been crashing all day today. If this would be a game app, I would have deleted it a long time ago. What's up devs? Why hasn't this issue been addressed or fixed yet?
Sorry about this. It's difficult for us to debug this because we can't reproduce the problem, so we're not even sure where the issue lies. We're restructuring our startup code to make it more streamlined and hopefully also eliminate whatever crashing issue exists there. We're almost ready to send it out to our beta testers to see if they encounter any issues. Very sorry about the problems.
My crashes only seem to happen as I'm scrolling really fast through the new games... But not everytime....
yes, definitely seems to happen when scrolling too fast, like the app can't keep up with updating all the icons as you scroll. it's odd, they keep releasing updates to fix these things and it works for a while then the crashes start again... could be an iPhone memory thing?
The crashing while scrolling is either a memory issue or a threading issue. We've changed the way we handle the lists which should address any memory problems the older method had. That change will go into the next release.
Been having a problem with Appsniper since yesterday. App connects to server but no new apps are loaded. In the past 24 hours, Appsniper shows only 3 new apps, that's it. I tried all the tabs under the settings (manual sync, etc) and also completely deleted the Appsniper, and reinstalled it, problem is still there. I checked Appshopper http://appshopper.com/ , and it seems there are many new apps out there, just not showing up on my Appsniper. Anyone else with this issue? Thanks, Rob
Sent an email to the developers, will let you know when/if i hear anything. Thank you for your reply. Rob
Got a reply from the devs. Looks like its not Appsnipers fault. App Store hasn't released any new apps, perhaps due to Easter.
