As many of us know apple went lower sometime ago and took down appshopper here's the article. For those who have it still dont delete the app http://thenextweb.com/apple/2012/12/18/apple-removes-popular-appshopper-app-from-sale-as-it-falls-afoul-of-app-stores-new-app-promotion-clause/?awesm=tnw.to_h0Zjh&utm_medium=Spreadus&utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=social%20media
http://www.thenextweb.com/apple/2012/12/18/apple-removes-popular-appshopper-app-from-sale-as-it-falls-afoul-of-app-stores-new-app-promotion-clause/ The part about Apple wanting to make "app discovery" solely an Apple thing I really hope is not going to happen. Using their own AppStore app to actually browse and look around the AppStore is a PITA.
Dangit, I came in here hoping for a Kirosoft game and get hit by sad news. Keeping my adds-removed AppShopper on forever (would have anyway.) It's in my "Productivity" folder.
LOL indeed, a sad situation. I can't load the most popular titles data for a few hours now on AppShopper, don't know if it is related or if is temporary or not. Anyone else experiencing this?
Definitely a sad situation. Yes, I like Appshopper because they update the apps a lot unlike Apple's app store which they update weekly. Anyway, I don't think we can do anything about it with the recent change in Apple's terms and conditions.
I use this app every day and have been totally reliant on it. Why ruin a good thing for the consumer? Doubt any replacement will be better than this app. Should change the title to Apphorror Story.
Sucks. The website will still work fine, of course, but we won't get notifications without the app. Unless they (or we) figure out a workaround, like maybe via Boxcar or something similar?
If you got the AppShopper app before it was removed from the App Store, it will continue to work (including push notifications). We are working on getting it back into the App Store. See the latest update (no new information to share since this was posted) here: http://appshopper.com/blog/2012/12/20/appshopper-app-removed-from-the-app-store-for-now/
This can only mean one thing! Apple want us to believe that their weekly suggestions are 100% perfect and always excellent games head and shoulders above the indy competition.
They hardly show Indy but rovio and other big companies are always on there makes no sense. Its not our fault as gamers not spending iap to support them but apple not showing Indy love. They have a Indy page on iTunes why not for games?
After reading this page I feel like I wasted my time on this then, hoping for an update for iPhone 5...
I'll have to delete it eventually. I don't know why, but it grows in filesize over time (the data that is); I delete it when it ends up between 300-500 Megs.
