More Beta Testing events would be nice. I'm kinda new to the scene despite the "Senior Member" ranking on the forums. But I've been getting around, and I'd like to say, you guys picked a good website to partner with.

If you want a possible event, maybe have a promocode launch with say, a high score topping event. Person who gets the highest score on the leaderboard each day will win a itunes gift card. One day a week. (Assuming you have something that uses OpenFeint for example, so they could be contacted.)

The money is kinda nice. $100 would do wonders to help get a new device later.

 

I think without a doubt people would love to win the "new Ipad" and you guys are one of the few people that I actually trust to have legit offers and contests because a lot of us on TA have been burned before.
But I never have to question a post by AppsAsia you guys have shown that you do look out for the TA community

 

Oh I agree, they are completely legit. I got my compensation for testing one of their games recently. They were quick about it too, that was what impressed me most.

 

Another thing whatever you decide to have contest or whatever please don't make it where people have to vote on a winner I find this turns into a popularity contest and the most popular person might not be the most deserving he or she might just have more friends than everyone else

Definitely use Twitter and Facebook,high score contests are great but we all know who the winners would be you need something that's fair and gives us all an equal shot like coming up with ad slogan or something I also like when you reward people for giving the most useful feedback for betas

 

Prizes for events should not be just money or iPad. I think some unique items in real of games are very interesting.

 

Well I'm a pretty recent member, but I'd honestly love to have a chance to win an Xbox slim even though you've already done that! An iPad certainly would be a perfect prize at Touch Arcade though. Or you can go the other direction and give away something like Amazon gift cards, where you can basically get everything except for iOS apps.

An idea for an event, maybe a sort of trivia contest. Where entrants must answer questions about the app, and the answers can be found within the app or on a website. But make it where entrants must send their answers through PM or email so people don't see others' answers. Everyone who gets the correct answers would be entered into a drawing.

Make the forums iPhone compatible.

A JetPack Joyride event to coincide with their update in a few weeks.
An anti-April fools day where you choose one random 100% true factoid posted.

Fix mobile access. I'm always on the go and this community is growing on me the longer I'm here. Most of the other sites I'm active at I access through TapaTalk or their mobile site.

that is a good idea about Pm or Email any answers to contest, people have a habit of copying or just adding to other peoples reviews and answers and claiming it as their own

The beta and promotion events are already good. Maybe try promoting on twitter more like doing a daily screenshot teaser for the upcoming game that will make the buyers more interested. Like try taking a screenshot of the upcoming game/s and post it on twitter and on the game's facebook fan page. You can also do a tweet or retweet contest of the teaser picture on twitter and have one lucky random winner every week who retweeted your teaser tweets. Same goes on facebook like one random person who shared the teaser post will win a code or itunes gc on release date.

I think doing a highscore contest is fun. Players will have to work hard just to win the prize.

I think that you should hold more beta testing events; I have been extremely pleased by the ones I've been accepted to so far.

I think that some prizes you could offer should be iTunes Gift Cards, Promo Codes, iPod Touches, and iPads.

Like other members recommended, I think that it would be a great idea to have high score contests for various apps. Some other ideas that I have for contests include:

• 
  photo contests, where members/fans submit their best pictures (including an AppsAsia or TouchArcade logo or other various image).

• 
  and guessing contests, where you have to guess a mystery word (such as a new app that you are promoting) after given a clue or where you guess the amount of certain items in an image

As for suggestions, the prizes are more than awesome! I have received a gift card for beta testing several games, and would love more opportunities in the future to do so. Ipads, Itouches, all those things would be amazing, or as someone mentioned earlier, amazon gift cards can go towards virtually anything a person might need. But to be honest, ANY prize is great.

And for events, maybe you could promote Facebook more, with daily screenshots, polls, and guessing contests that could have prizes, and where people have to share the posts.I think it's quite amazing that you guys give away so many prizes and hope that you will continue to do so in the future!

Forgot one thing: Highscore contests! If you're promoting an endless runner game or something, have the people actually have to work for the prize! It would be fun and a challenge.

 

Well I don't own a console and I'd love to win either PS3 or Xbox 360, but the new iPad would be even better! But you've sent out so many expensive gifts to folks around TA that I wouldn't even mind getting small gifts anymore like 10$ iTunes gift cards, because you've already sent out so big gifts that I'd feel bad if you would keep spending your money on us when you've already did so much!

Instead of big prizes, you could do more contests with smaller prices! So more people can win and you don't have to spend that much money on us I'd love to have something different as a contest... Way too many devs do that review and rate contest, but I'd gladly want to enter in a real contest, not just review and hope for best. Like you could do a contest where you'd have to create the best looking tree on a app you have on App Store(no idea if you have one, this was just an idea). Or suggest names contests and stuff like that, they're much more fun than review and rate. Maybe do more twitter contests.

I'd be more involved if there was almost no review and rate and facebook things. Facebook is for my personal so that's why I wouldn't want to mix those... Twitter would be nice to use more though!

 

1. Things I'd like to win is iPod Touch 4th gen, iPod nano 6th gen or some accessories for iPhone/iPad and of course iTunes GiftCards or PayPal money I think better to make contest where will be several winners of small prizes instead of one winner of big prize (for example 3 winners of iPod Touch instead of one winner of iPad)
2. I'd like to see the TouchArcade app for iPhone and iPad if it's possible It will be great!

- I agree with dreadnok I also don't like contests where you should get more Likes or RT's or something like that.

( the smaller the value, the more people can win , hence more joy can be shared. Apart from that, when the value of prize is high, there's always more issue such as cheating as it happened many times before here). Besides this, high score contest is not really encouraged unless there is a method to verify the validity of the score. If voting contest is held, I hope that the voter is picked or formed by people deemed credible by appasia/TA, so that it won't be turned to popularity contest or who's is more efficiency is using bots to gain likes in facebook and etc.

* Things we can do to improve what we do on Toucharcade
As I've noticed on TA's home page where reviews are carried out, the ratings are only given by the reviewer. I hope that we, as TA forumers, would love to join in the fun of rating the games as well. Ideally, the person who reading the reviewed app can refer to ratings given by the author and forumers at the same time without going to check it out in the particular thread.

I think other than what I've mentioned above, cross over with some game developers in some items would be nice. Examples, coffee mug, T-shirt or even some character dolls such as Om Nom. In my personal view, slogan contest is very suitable for such prizes (or vice versa).

eg. slogan/logo/wallpaper(background of the homepage) contest

Alternatively, we could have a review contest monthly. The best review will be posted as an article on homepage of TA.

* How we can get you more involved!
I tend to get more involved when I feel I'm heard and appreciated or idea being adopted. I'm sure everybody does. It may take a long time to reply every posts but it helps build the relationship between each other.
