Pretty much what the titles says. Nothing, and I mean nothing, helps. And sorry about making this thread, I know there was a similar one a couple days back, but I searched back 5 pages and found nothing. Stock apps work fine, though.
Everything works just fine except the non-stock apps. Safari, iPod app, weather, videos, all work fine. CoD, Sway, any of the games I've purchased will not run. They pop up for two seconds and shut down.
That happened to me, I restored and everything worked fine, did you do something to your iPod by any chance, have you dropped it or something? This is probably useless but all knowledge is helpful.
Hold home and sleep for 10 seconds or when your pc makes the sound when you disconnect a USB port. Then keep holding home until your computer recognizes your iPod again. Tell me if It works
Tried that late last night, along with a couple other things. Getting Real Soccer 09 back on my iPod did nothing. Checked out a tutorial online, turned out it was wrong, found another one. But thanks
I'm thinking that I should set-up the iPod as a new one instead of backing it up with my old settings. I don't really have any progress I really wanna save. Advice?
I posted the thread actually, the one here. Too bad no one actually responded. The fix is that you just wait it out, it's about 24 hours and just curious, if you were updating any apps on your iPod, did it fail? E.g. wifi disconnected, locked your iPod? You don't actually have to restore, have some patience and wait it out and it should be fine, if you want clarification, check the Outer Empires MMO and it'll state that it fixed a bug where the app would not launch for a while after a failed app update. EDIT: Oh and what's weird is that some applications actually work fine and launch as per normal, might be a bug with most apps, was kinda frustrating though.
Hope that's the case. If not, I'll just take it to the genius bar. I need to get a case for it anyways. And no, I think I might've exited an app and preformed another action to quickly that it hiccupped. DFU mode and restoring did nothing. Ah, well.
Did you recently upgrade from 2.2.1 to 3.x? Both mine and my wife's phones experienced that problem shortly after upgrade. There's no real fix other than not restoring. You can reinstall all your apps, but you restore your settings a whole bunch of stuff will fail. On my wife's phone some iTunes songs wouldn't even play. We took my wife's phone to the Genius Bar and they had no solution other than the bleeding obvious. "We think when you restore, you're reinstalling the issue. Reinstall the firmware and don't restore." Amazing insight, those guys. ________ Marijuana Medical
I've been using 3.0 for a few months now. It just randomly happened, which leaves me stumped. And yeah, the Genius bar for the most part can take care of the standard and advanced troubleshooting. There's only a few actual mac geniuses there, but there's also plenty of idiots.
I think this is just the common iTunes sync bug. Try deleting the 'infected' apps from both iTunes and iDevice. Download them again directly onto the device or iTunes then sync. This always worked for me.
Yeah, figured that's what I have to do. Been waiting it out. Probably'll just start fresh if it doesn't sort itself out. At least it'll get me to delete those games I never play.
