The new update of Rhythm Studio is fantastic. They really added some nice stuff. A 909 drum machine, a new synth and the ability to mix 'n match what devices you want to use for a song. Any combination of up to four devices. That is SO cool.

I have only played around with the 909 a bit. Still need to check out the new synth.

    It's only $.99?

What's the normal price of it. It looks nice.

Yes!!!! I have been following SampleTank for a few months now...waiting for it to come out. I just noticed a little bit ago that it was finally released today. Yeah, only the iPhone version was released. Still waiting on iPad. If I knew it was going to be a Universal app, I'd probably get the iPhone version.

I have been wanting a set of acoustic/real instruments for the iPad (already have plenty of synths), and SampleTank looks like the one. I've wanted to find a good piano sound.

Have you seen this piano sample video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kc7Q3AxMXWM

Thanks. I have been following that thread. Now I'm wondering if it will work with the CCK or iRig only.

A few things. The piano videos have been sounds from the Piano Pack. The videos are using the iPhone app running on an iPad. I found this great link which goes over every sound available in each pack: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/sampletankiphone/moreinfo/whatsinside.php

    Hi guys!

SampleTank iOS supports core midi so it will work with iRig MIDI or any other midi device, including CCK.

    Moog Music Inc.: 'Filtatron' $7.99 ==> $0.99

I am not the developer—just passing the info. Well, that's what I call SPACY! Phenomenal real-time audio effects suite and powerful studio tool. Yes! With real time processing of the iPhone's mic or line in!

App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.

Try to start four or five of those videos at the same time ;) (Just kidding. Be careful with volume.)

It's not the only music app that needs an update for the new iOS. Glad that I did not update my iPad Orig. to iOS 5 yet (although done with iPhone 4 and iPad 2) so I could play around a while with Filtatron's presets, sampler, pads and effects.

And that app is simply CRAZY believe me!

Those large and pretty knobs (with virtual LEDs) and pads (switchable VCF/LFO/DLY/VCO/ENV/AMP) on iPad are really good to control. Cool Time Sync Tap. Stereo sound is awesome (tested with Sennheiser and AKG headphones). Highly recommended for very electric musicians!

Get sound demos ==> HERE (dev website) <== but keep your volume control handy!

    algoriddim's djay: great update!

I hope you count deejays as musicians too (okay, kind of…). At least the buck for the iPhone version should invest every1 who is slightly interested in the genre. Perfect auto beat matching (press the sync button in the mixer) and even full auto mixing! Super fast loading times on iPad 2.

Now with some instant audio effects (with pretty pads), Cloud integration and enhanced AirPlay. You even can load tracks from other music apps (not only iTunes archive) in the turntables (via AudioCopy)! Tried it out: Works pretty well.

    AWESOME! INCREDIBLE! Highly recommended!

Check out a short video of the new Audio FX in action:

Before a curse befell Avelon, it was a beautiful, lively world where these three talented painters painted pictures for all creatures night and day.
On one fateful day, an unknown beast manipulated the wind, blowing away all traces of color.
Thus the world was only left with a murky grey which saddened all its inhabitants.

In order to save the island, the three painters started their journey to search for them, their attempts rewarded with their homeland regaining whatever they found.

    Animoog

Since no one else has mentioned it yet, the new synth from Moog was just released. Animoog. It's currently on sale for 99 cents. If you were tired of the same ol' analog subtractive synths on the iPad(* see below), this one will brighten your day! The sounds are unique. Fat. Evolving. Shimmering.

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/animoog/id471638724?ls=1&mt=8

    * - I do think the current crop of synths is terrific, but I already have enough of them that I stopped buying yet another analog sounding synth. The Animoog is different, though.

    Animoog

Instabuy. No regret. Terrific. Sounds pretty good and the animations are looking very professional. :)

    Thanks for the heads-up.

More sound demos at the dev's website.

    Animoog Manual PDF

To start right off simply change the presets at the lower left side of the X/Y Pad or load some timbres into the eight slots and play. No need to touch any knob at first. Love how you can slide on the keys for some modulation.

Some first impressions found @ YouTube:

Yes! Really nice feature. I didn't notice this at first, but my finger slid one time and I realized the sound changed when that happened. I'm now hitting keys at different spots and it is becoming really expressive. I was wondering if this is just a feature of the iPad version or if you can emulate this through MIDI/Aftertouch.

They even supply you with a good set of presets. Most of them have some nice qualities that I like and can be used as a starting point for a sound I'm really looking for.

I downloaded the manual (in iBooks), but I have not read it yet. It looks like the manual is still in progress, but they probably figured they should get something out there as a starting point.

Yep. Picked it up this morning. :) I was hoping for more in the way of acoustic, but, in any case, this is a phenomenal deal. I tried out the DM-1's audio background while playing the Animoog and things got too choppy on my iPad 1. I need to test this with something other than Animoog. The Audio Background feature is very nice, though.

I had a pattern going at 60 BPM with a delay. It produced this cool feel and I was playing to it with Animoog. I moved on to something else and then when I went back to DM1, oddly, the delay was no longer working the same. I moved the X/Y delay sliders around but could still not duplicate the feel exactly. :(

I create awesome paper airplanes that I will sell
    Here
Can anyone give me some cool ones for iPod Touch please (e.g. just not ipad-only). Preferably if it at least has a lite version as well, but all suggestions are welcome. The more the better, seriously. Thanks!!

Nanostudio is one of the best out there and it's for iPhone. It's a synthesizer, sequencer, includes drum pads, terrific effects and lets you import samples. There is a free download for Mac and Windows if you want to try it first. But keep in mind, the free download is based off an older version.

If you are looking for sounds with limited editing, the new SampleTank has a ton of great sounds. From acoustic to synth, and ethinic to sound effects. There is a free version which has something like four sounds, but lets you hear every single sound they offer in the app. You just need to buy the sounds to unlock them for playing.

There's an app coming out based on an old website called SongExpert.com

Song Expert closed down about 5 years ago.

They have a team of music producers that review and critique submissions by indie artists. The app will let you send in a song and pick your reviewer. I think the website was about $20/review.

Sample Lab $8.99 -> $.99 (= all time best price for the first time)

I am not the developer—just passing the info. Tried it on iPad 2 with the demo compositions (switch on sequence below left) and played around a bit with the fx pads (cutoff, reverb, compress… be careful with "distort") and it sounds GREAT! (Tested with AKG and Sennheiser headphones.)

App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.
