Wow, djay has been released for iPhone...I had no idea it was coming. Now I'm wondering if it's better than TouchDJ and Sonorasaurus. I'd post the app info but I always eff up the tags when I try to do that for some reason.
So I use Garageband, Beatmaker, and Nanostudio on my iPad. Any other worthy synths that support copy paste or at least audio export to use with my DAW? Or any othe rgood DAW's on the iPad? My thoughts on what I do have... The lack of piano roll in Garageband is completely unacceptable on Apple's part...I'll still play around with it, but wow. If they add this later in an update, it will be one of the better pieces of software on the Appstore. Beatmaker is fun, but I think it has a bit of a learning curve to make it usable for something worth sharing. It's really just a fancy MPC, which is still awesome. An iPad optimized app would be pretty neat. Nanostudio is really great - I can't think of too many things I don't like about it besides the lack of native iPad support. The sequence editor takes a bit of learning, but it's worth it. I also have DJay - I like it, but I'm not too keen on the whole mixing thing...Or at least I don't really have any good tunes to use to play with and have fun with it. I need some beat tracks and such and then I might find it to be more useful/fun. So does anyone have any good suggestions on apps they use and find useful/enjoy based on what I do have?
Question - What is the simplest music creation app that has a piano roll? I need something reliable that is fast and clean that won't get in the way of me trying to get an idea down quickly. I've looked into a few like Beatmaker and it seems way too complicated for what I'd like to use it for. Any suggestions?
Music Studio? There's a lite version to try. Does'nt do audio tracks etc, but its supposed to come in an update(?). Or Nanostudio obviously.
Both of these would work fine. Want more traditional instruments? Get Music Studio. More interested in synths and drum machines? Get NanoStudio.
I had nanostudio for a while and having great fun with it. It is really easy to learn. What i really miss is the basic instruments. Nanostudio is all about loading samples. Please suggest an app that can create tunes of classic intruments like guitar, piano, flute etc. And i want the best one. Also if there is seperate pro app each instrument please suggest that too. Also anybody got the beatmaker 2? How does that stand aganist the nanostudio? I know it has a steep learning curve. Does that mean it is more elegant?
I have the same impressions of nanostudio it's a great app but really should have came with a good selection of real instrument samples I know technically you can import your own but it seems a lot of work and then there is the whole problem of finding them. I have another IOS synth app called wavesynth that has a good choice of them but you can't really do much more than fool about on it theres no saving etc but if you want to play about I recommend it.
That would be Music Studio. As for samples, I usually steal them from Reason. A fantastic source for quality samples is the DVDs that come with Computer Music - check your local bookstore each month to see what the sample focus is that issue and snag it if you're interested. Every disc has their basic suite of software as well as demos/samples/tutorials/etc. Great magazine.

Anyone have any thoughts about Songsterr, used to be Tabster? Looks like it has a bunch of tabs, but tabs can frequently be junk.
Has any one tried Polychord, from Shoulda Woulda Coulda? Looks intriguing and the reviews are generally very good.
Hey, yeah saw that and picked it up. I hope it is better than Touch DJ; I didn't end up all too impressed with that one.
