What!!!??? I get Best in Travel 2014 and you get Walking Dead?? Now I see what it feels like to get a lump of coal.

I wonder if we all get the same 12 gifts, just in different orders, cause I see people from the same country get different gifts. I wonder if I delete it and redownload it if I will get a different gift. Has anyone tried that?

The app doesn't work with American territories. (I live in Guam.) But by the looks of it, I'm not really missing much.

Yep, just like tiny thief some "gifts" aren't really exclusive to Apple's promotion. It's rather disappointing coming from them.

No, no, the travel guide is useful so that you can actually get to those countries that feature the "good" gifts for next year! :)

And heads up, Toca House is free worldwide today too, just not necessarily "featured" by Apple in this same manner.

Jeez this is one miserable thread.

Reading though some of the posts is depressing stuff, with so much negativity and bile being spouted for Apple promoting some free items covering the full demographic of iDevice users.

We have just experienced the greatest sale of some of the best games iOS has to offer, yet people are bitching about being told there is a free book to download, because they want a free game instead.

Appshopper is a version of this app that promotes games, whilst iTunes also offer books, music, tv shows and films etc.

Stop bitching about something free. If you don't want it don't download, simples, and don't bother to tell the forum either.

Chill out and enjoy the holidays.

Those are Really Generous Apple Freebies...
Really... Who wants that trash ??
99% is already free by default, or you get a stupid book.. (Sorry... I do read comics)... but common...
Even the FreeAppaDay stuff is better..

There's quite a few pre-schoolers in the world. And the ones I know, including my own, love the Toca Boca apps. Although, we have them all already.

    No, I think you don't
understand the marketing tactics of proclaiming "christmas gifts" as freebies WHEN MOST OF IT WAS ALREADY FREE!!! Tiny Thief game, for one example. That is no gift. It's re-gifting, and it's stupid to not understand how shawdy it is to get something for Christmas that was supposed to be special to devoted Apple followers, and it's nothing but a dumb way to continue promoting free stuff in new, exciting wrapping paper.

What if I went in your closet, took out a shirt, wrapped it up and gave it to you as if it were a gift just for you?! Let me guess--you'd be excited to be given your own shirt just because it fits you, eh?

Open your eyes, and stop siding with the marketing army.

Taking my possessions and giving them back to me as a gift is hardly the same thing as this though is it?

This is a free app, mainly aimed at average iOS 7 iDevice owners, or new Apple customers, not the small percentage of us serious iOS gamers, to promote the various products available through iTunes.

Tiny Thief, whilst a fair point (in that it was already free) was only promoted as the daily gift in certain countries, not the UK nor US, which will be 2 of the largest markets.

Nobody paid for the 12 Days app and Apple has not taken anything from you other than a few seconds of your time each day, hardly a crime to cry about.

I don't see this as a shady practice, but the gifts are unlikely to be to the taste of all customers, and whilst this years offerings have been nothing special, I picked up a travel guide from the US store for free, which is a bonus since I am from the UK.

I am not siding with Apple but showing some common decency to accept or decline what is being offered for free, without whining about it and crying that life is not fair.....that would be pointless because life isn't fair.....if it was I wouldn't have to go to work today, but c'est la vie. Peace out
