If I have a web application that accepts credit cards for on-line services already, does Apple have a policy against this type of transaction? I know they obviously don't have a policy against providing an application that will extend an already paid-for service (e.g., augmenting your DirecTV account). I know they allow electronic transactions to be enables (paying bills from my online banking account via the iPhone client). I'd like an iPhone client that can do what an existing website already does, which is accept a CC and incur transactions against it, or incur transactions against the account that was already set up on the web (or vice-versa). *edit* and to be clear, all the PCI-compliant CC processing already happens from the back-end servers. Just looking to add another UI, this one on the iPhone. I hadn't thought twice about it until someone mentioned that Apple might not let that happen in their approved applications. Thoughts?
