Let's make a quick comparision between a "high-end" Mac Pro and an expensive Alienware gaming rig.

    Specs:
    Mac Pro $5'100
    3,33Ghz Quad core + $1'200
6GB Tri channel RAM, Mhz unknown. + $150
    ATi Radeon HD 4870 clocked at 512Mhz + $200
    RAID(-0?) card + $700
    2TB 7200RPM HDD. $+350

    Alienware Area-51 $4'239
    NOTE: Liquid cooled.
    3,33Ghz Hexa core (6 cores) + $850
6GB Tri channel RAM, 1333Mhz + $0, its standard in this PC.
Dual ATi Radeon HD 5970, clocked at 2GB.(thats more than 8 times as fast as the HD 4870) + 800 (standard is dual HD5770 clocked at 1GB)
    RAID-0 + $0 included with HDD
    2TB 7200RPM HDD + $250

Everything in the Alienware is cheaper (except for the GPU's, but the 2 GPU's are so much faster than the single, slow GPU Apple uses, its like comparing a bike with a sports car), and faster/equal.

You'll probably notice how expensive this Raid-0 card is. Why?
Well, because appearently, Apple likes to rip people off. WTF is wrong with them? This is the same as buying a cubic meter of air for $700, great deal!

Also, the CPU you get in the Mac Pro, is slower and not water cooled, but you still pay 280 dollars more, also a must buy.

This just proves that Apple's pricing is rediculous.

    Same for iMacs and MBP's.

Ahhhh, well first off, what type of Mac Pro are you buying for $5,100

Second, its not always about the product. It's how you sell it. If I am going to buy a new Computer, and someone is telling me its awesome and its amazing and such, whereas the other one which , although it is cheaper, has people saying its okay..not perfect...buggy...Well sure the cheaper computer may be better, but everyone has told me these new computers that may be worse are just so great! Get it?

Also, well if I'm buying a computer, I want it to be setup. I don't want (or for that matter, NEED) to game on my computer, sure maybe some flash, but for everything else I have $300 systems. I don't want to have to buy this and that, and make sure its compatible with this and that and also make sure it works. I want to plug in, download some stuff, and have it work. You know why none of the REALLY high end stuff isn't on Macs? Well because on a Mac, things are as simple as they need to be. Yet its still complex enough to please.

FYI, I have 3 windows PCs, and 1 PCLinuxOs box.

You pretty much just re-stated in depth what I said earlier about how consumers pay for convenience/simplicity (it was stupidity before but that is often way too blunt).

That is all fine and all if money is no matter to you. Now I'm not really poor by any means but last I checked being a consumer, having to pay less and get a usually better performing product is worth the effort you spend being relatively more knowledgeable than another.

    Hahaha ok, Sorry :p

Well I'm split on the issue. Money is a matter to me, but its tough. Because I can live with a regular Mac, But I cannot live with a non-upgraded PC. I have 4gbs of Ram, and yet my computer SQUEALS when I have Chrome and Word 2007 Open. Goddamn vista

Gb's? That would explain your problem. :p

But assuming that you meant Gigabytes (rather than Gigabits), it's not just the RAM you need to worry about. The speed of your processor and hard drive also matter.

My main computer also has 4GB RAM and a 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo (which I want to upgrade to an i5), and I run Vista with absolute ease while playing the memory-hog of a game which is Supreme Commander, so I dunno what your problem is.

Perhaps you should get rid of said other random junk. And check for viruses.

Office works perfectly fine for me. And if by Adobe you mean Flash, then that, too.

By Adobe I mean the whole suite, and i regularly check for viruses. It may be my program that auto changes the wallpaper, as well as my Mac OS X doc :p

If we use what you say in the context of Apple vs. Microsoft, then the 'people' who say that PCs are virus prone and have tons of problems is Apple. Not exactly a reliable, unbiased source.

You have to ignore sales methods. Yor need to see if that computer is right for your needs, check the specs, compare the two, then go to some respected review site. Never listen to commercials (How the producted is usually advertised to consumers), they're all lies.

That said, nearly everyone I know over the age of 40 with a PC has some kind of virus/adware/spyware bogging the system down. It may well be an overused and almost boring advertising gimmick, but some people just plain need it.

First of all, non-Apple products aren't bad.

Second, an Alienware Area-51 is probably better built than a Mac.

Third, " You know why none of the REALLY high ends stuff isn't on Macs?"
Yes. an iMac is horrible to keep cool, same for MBP and MB.

    Last but not least;
    not REALLY high end stuff

Really high things end are for example the latest CPU's and GPU's, like the ATi Radeon HD5970, Nvidia GT480, AMD hexacores and Intel Core i7 980X.

High end is recent high performance hardware, for example Extreme i7's, Nvidia's high-end gaming GPU's (i.e. GTX285), ATi's gaming GPU's(HD5850/5870) etc.

    Mid end are Intel's normal i7's and i5's, Nvidia's normal GPU's (like the GT220) or ATi's 5670. Also AMD's X4 processors are mid end.

Low end hardware is old stuff, like the GPU's you'll find in a Mac, and processors, like an Intel C2D or C2Q processor. Also AMD's X2 processors are low end(old).

Apple is mid to low end.
