I would have LOVED to see this coming about a decade ago.

Isn't it just the case that apple is the only company not reinvesting their money it's almost like they are saving up for something.

  4. This terrifies me for some reason.

I'd be surprised if they didn't buy Netflix at some point, they have so much cash on hand that the speculations for acquisitions are flying rampant at the rumour-mill.

Oh, and Nintendo is a sure fire buy when the console business implodes!

    /zing

That was a joke, sorta :) Really though all I need is a quad core iPad 3 and a bluetooth apple controller and I'm set. Let's go Steve J. I know you used to hate games, but they're your biggest source of income on the App store and I'm sure you like MONEY. Apple were anti-gaming till the devs and consumers basically hijacked their devices and told Mommy for once that THEY know best! (Apple is still mean Mommy in every other sense, but you get used to her)

But I expect some gaming/ multimedia developments with all that cash. That's my bet anyhow.

P.S. If you would have told me 3 years ago that I'd replace 20 years of console gaming with iOS devices I would have checked you right into the loony bin. How times change. Or I got old. Or both. Still love my PC though, Apple has a long way to go before they convince me to buy a MAC.

Now we can all blame the collapsed economy on Apple for not paying any taxes on their 70+ billion dollars. There's 2 trillion dollars in corporate money in the U.S. and basically none of it is being taxed. And of course corporations are out-sourcing all their jobs overseas in order to avoid paying mimium wage to workers here in America or having to deal with Union demands. As well as trying to make themselves more economically efficient by cutting jobs altogether. The less people they have to employ, the greater their profit margin. And that is why America has gone to hell. Gotta love capitolism. Actually, no you don't. Capitolism is stupid.

Lawsuits are expensive, and given the amount of ridiculous patent lawsuits they're throwing, they need to get that money from somewhere. A well funded war chest is a lawyer's wet dream.
