Crappy. I don't mind giving the money back, I just didn't realize that the mistake had occurred, and it sucks that it will be taken from March. Oh well. I hope it doesn't happen again.

How is that legal? Is there something in your contract that says they can pay you and then take it away months later?

Wow that is pretty unfair, it's Apple's fault they screwed up.

Tell them it's not acceptable and you've spent the money and can't afford this kind of retraction. Make them take it out in smaller payments each month, not all at once.

Even though that is a pretty dang good monthly check

Wow! You don't do half bad for a monthlyl check! If I had 10 apps that sell as well as Stick Escape, I would be up there with you ;)

No, they made an accounting mistake. It happens. And yes it's legal and standard practice to ask for the money back.

It sure sucks when it happens but proper bookkeeping on the developers side can help prevent it being a surprise.

Yeah, come on, accounting mistakes happen. It's not that they're greedy. You're the one who is greedy if you still want the money you didn't deserve.

I worked at a credit union and we did stuff like this all the time. Sometimes we'd do it without contacting the person.

  15. Seems reasonable enough to me. At least they are deducting it from your next amount and not trying to take it out of your bank account now.

It's legal, and yes, accounting mistakes happen, if they overpaid you, you have to give the extra back. It's not pleasant but it's money that's not your as you didn't earn it.

same thing happened to alot of los angeles city school teachers i know becuase school district changed accounting software. but when lausd took thier money back they took an extra to 100 dollars from teachers who got overpaid so they could fix the software problem at least apple didnt do that with you that would be a real kick in the face

As long as they don't want you to send money back--they're simply paying YOU less next month--then it seems very agreeable to me.

Their crime then is getting your hopes up falsely to the tune of $1k :)

I have an idea that will keep them from getting their money back!

Since you are going to take it out of next months pay check, all you have to do is not earn any money! Just make all of your apps free from now on and they will never make anything! That will show them!
