@metalcasket I as well wrote to the the dev as soon as the question about two versions emerged, probably even before you and @Royce, but still didn’t receive any response. But to see the paid version being actually pulled from the App Store without explanation doesn’t put the dev into best light. On the contrary.
Still no reply to my email. I’ve been checking my spam folder too and nothing. Maybe we could try posting on the developer’s itch.io in case he still looks at that.
I’m sorry to say but I think it’s starting to be safe to assume the lack of response speaks for itself
What?! So I paid for a game that will no longer be supported just after just a week or so of being released. Shoving this developer into my never again list.
Given the developer’s track record with all of us here who have tried getting in touch, there’s absolutely no telling. Just be glad it was a dollar and not a 10 buck purchase that’s inaccessible after a week. *sigh*
They seem to respond to App Store reviews, kind of weird but maybe someone could leave a review asking what's up.
Nice catch. Really, really weird they're not responsive anywhere else. Twitter is definitely not the best place to look for support, but given folks have been emailing them...I dunno! Well, the age old question of "What WAS the difference between the two versions?" is answered with a..."it's just there for players who prefer a traditional game with no Ads and IAP. It doesn't offer premium skins and coin bundles like this game." The trade off is fair enough. Want to spend money on premium skins? Sure. Go for the free version. Want a pure gameplay-based version of the game with no extra bling? Go for the paid version. Problem is...WHERE is it?
I just did a review (more a question about this situation) on the free game in the AppStore. If they respond I will post here.
Lol. Why not. Just another piece to add to this mystery. If this was April the 1st I might understand. (No reply to my AppStore posting yet, and I added another post to the re-released paid version. I thought the absence of the paid version might be to change the AppStore description but nope, it is still exactly the same as the free version). @metalcasket. That explanation you posted above about the difference between the two versions..... was that from the actual developer? Just clarifying.
It is. If anyone's looking to buy the paid version, it's safe to do so. Just know that it's an update behind the free one right now.
And just to continue with the confusing state of affairs; Update notes are only in the free version. Paid version has no update notes, so no idea if the paid version got all the update benefits. Customising controls:- Free version - you can see the way the controls change from the main menu Paid version - you can only see the way the controls change when you are actually playing The reset button for the controls in the free version does nothing There is no reset button in the paid version
From the developer; "Thank you for the review - This is the full game. It's there for players who want a premium app without IAP and Ads. Premium skins available on the free app as IAPs are not available at the moment, but everything else is the same. We'll be offering a free skin in the next update."
