The 'hey great game 5 stars' reviews mainly come from incentivised downloads, e.g.: - give you 100 coins to rate us 5 stars. - 'download this app and give it a good review and we'll give you $5. Of course promo codes could be abused. But look at the workarounds: - Make the app free. But now you get reviews from people who spent naught on the product, expect a pitiful mix of accolades and free rants. - Send iTunes gift cards. From the dev's point of view that's pretty much the same as a promo code except that 30% of the list price goes to Apple. I persist: won't fix anything, just make small devs life harder.
