As someone said in one of the article comments, looking up the domain name shows that the ip address of the host server belongs to "- Quebec - Montreal - Divertissements Gameloft Inc" Methinks this is a new gameloft offering. http://whois.domaintools.com/coming-on-iphone.com
Yes I have, Mirrors Edge does not look very realistic. That video is prerendered, theres is no way any platform, PC (or at least any 'consumer' PC) can handle those kinds of graphics realtime. View the video from around 2/3 of the way. That is MUCH more realistic than any game available today.
A version of Gangstar should be coming out from Gameloft. http://www.gamearena.com.au/videos/latest.php/gangster-2-mobile-game-trailer
...lame.. the Cartel looks like just another retread iMob/iMafia/iRe-Hash stupid waste of space and time.
There is a top down birds eye shot in the trailer where the cars skid through the cross roads. This looks very much like a screen from a top down GTA style game.
I am no developer or hardware expert....but isnt alot of what makes a device able to do something....the engine in which the software is built? None the less, I can make a video embedded on an iphone and upload it to a site called the-coolest-iphone-game-ever.com and make it a true website for about $4. So we will just have to see!
Gangster hi, i know wich game is it its gonna be the game from gameloft something like gangster 2 something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooOdYzYmnNg
lol, it's a crappy text based MMO. Read a few pages back. I think someone needs to put this in the first page or in the thread title because people are still guessing what it could be.
Excuse me? The graphics in that trailer were far beyond the capabilities of something like the 3GS. It's a fairly obvious observation.
GTA clone or GTA clone sequel?? I wouldn't be surprised if this was a teaser for a sequel to one of the successful GTA clones already on the platform like Car Jack Streets or Payback.
Probably the same way they stated they could get Dreamcast level graphics quality games on the original iTouch/Phone devices. Even I fell for that. Tossing aside the differences in resolution, there were apparently things that made it near impossible to get DC level quality stuff up and running at a good framerate on pre-3GS iTouch/Phones, and most likely the same will happen with getting true XBox level style stuff on 3Gs and the 3Gs based iTouch devices that will (perhaps) be released later this year. Some of these impediments were alluded to when Carmack spoke about 3Gs. We might see stuff that, differences aside, at least will look closer to that last gen of consoles (DC, PS2, GC, XBox) than the original iTouch/Phone line did, and closer still than PSP does now.
Though I have read the full thread I find no proof that the coming-on-iphone *damn! that was good babe* site is linked to The Cartel. From what we know this site is hosted by Gameloft and honestly, even if you think the worst of this company like I do, a textbased MMO is not their style. An updated port of "Gangster" oder "American Gangster" is much more likely.
