    Payment Times for Apple

I'm just curious.... can anyone give me a rough idea of how long it takes Apple to pay the developers on average? I know they allow up to 45 days, but most companies do this, but normally pay sooner.

I thought a light version would help, but due to a release date issue, my app was made available on Sept 28th but the date is set as Sept 24th, so it started out life buried under 4 days of apps. My the paid version is trickling at 1 purchase per day now.

The free version has a whooping 7 downloads.

    Back to the drawing board.

    Date changes...

Yeah, I know how that works.... Mine was off by thirty days! I took the advice of a member on this board and each morning changed the release date to the current date while the app was pending. That way, when it did release, it came out as just released that day. But you have to be consistent! If you miss a day, that is the day it will be approved...

Did you ever recover from that? Release an update?

    Ah, you obviously did ;)

    Recovered well....

Some how people found it. Most of the people that emailed about how to improve it said they found it via pandora and other items. I have been averaging 75 - 80 downloads a day. I did however release a minor update that addressed a bug issue using the technique described above and it is now ranked in the top 100 of each of its two categories. I have several more updates I will release in a few days which I will use the same technique. MAKE sure you NEVER release an UPDATE with a future date! It will remove your current app from the store until that date.

You should add more screen shots...

You should consider adding more screen shots to give a better idea of the type of play. I have been promising a video of game play for over a week, but just haven't had the time, but I will MAKE time as the screen shots never really give a good idea of how things work.

Yes. I fell for that trick once. I added an update and thought I was setting the update's release date. It just took the app off of sale for 2 days. I didn't realize until a friend of mine tried to buy it but couldn't find it.

You basically have to baby sit your update to check that it gets approved. Fun.

Ok, I too got bit by the release date problem for my initial releases (full + lite versions of Super Juicy). Now I've got updates pending, are you saying if I don't babysit my availability date, they too will be buried in the list? Ack!
