    Hello,
I have a big problem with the links on this site.
The app-store links in the forum won't open in Itunes when I click on them. It only opens a link like this in firefox and the header of the tab says click (GIF-picture, 1x1 pixel)

    http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=8Vpad6ZPHj0&subid=&offerid=146261.1&type=10&tmpid=3909&RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fitunes.apple.com%2Fus%2Fapp%2Fcompression%2Fid336619819%3Fmt%3D8

(i tried to open the Compression app shown on the frontpage today)
Can anybody help to solve this problem?

It works fine for me. Try using Google Chrome or Safari.

Sorry but that wasn't/isn't the problem. Popups weren't blocked.

Normally I don't want to solve a problem with a programm just by using another one. But this time it brought me at least the conclusion that my problem has nothing to do with Firefox. Chrome has the same problem (and IE as well). So there must be a general problem with my system. Any ideas?

Seriously, you've said those exact same words in several threads now. Your tongue is in danger of being dissolved by stomach acid if it goes any further up Apple's ass.

Any other idea besides the obvious...
...and a Mac (which is for some the same)?

Here is what I did so far:

    - editing the about:config in Firefox (but my problem isn't a Firefox one as I said
    - editing the registry
    - used other browsers
    - disabled the Firewall (Kapersky Internet Security)

Haven't had that problem, is something blocked in your firewall?

I run Windows XP/SP3 and Firefox 3.5.7 with popup blocking and have no problems.
Did you update to the 3.6 version?

If you have addons installed, try to deactivate them one by one.

    Do you use Adblock Plus?

EDIT: Ups sorry - missed that you tried other browsers and still failed.
    Forget this post.

Can you open the links to AppStore from AppShopper.com?

What about your general internet options?

  20. Sounds like Windows has lots its association with iTunes. Have you tried iTunes links elsewhere? Do they work from other sites?

If it works elsewhere then it's something in Firefox. Run down this checklist:

    - Make sure Javascript is enabled
    - Temporarily disable all extensions and try; if it works, it's an extension that's interfering, so enable them one by one until the links stop working and you'll have your culprit
    - In Firefox, under Tools->Options->Applications, look for the "itms" filetype and make sure it says "Use iTunes (Default)". If it doesn't, right-click and see if there's an "Open Link With" or "Open Link As" option in the context menu. If not, you'll need to restore the file association.

    Restoring the file association:

    Win XP:
Go into your control panel and open "Folder Options" and click on "File Types." Click "Add", add extension ".itms", choose program "itunes.exe" with action "open" (default)

    Vista/7:
Open control panel, run "Default Programs" and select "Associate a file type or protocol with a program." Search down the list in both file types and protocols to see if the ".itms" extension is there. If it is and is not associated with iTunes, click on it, then click on "Change Program" and locate iTunes.

If the ".itms" association is not there at all, then you'll have to do a but of funny business, as Vista and 7 do not allow you to add additional filetypes for some idiotic reason. So what you need to do is right-click on the desktop and create a new, blank text document, but give it the file extension ".itms". You don't need to open it, just have Windows create it. Now right-click on the file and select "Open With" and find and choose "iTunes.exe" and the association will be restored.

    Hope this helps.
