.app files

    i recieved a .app file from a dev and dont know how to open it or drag it into itunes. how do i open the file and what program do i have to use to open the file

    You don't open it, you just drag it into the iTunes applications tab and it should install. If you're talking about a beta you should have a provisional file too.

    Drag it to the Library portion of iTunes, upper-left-hand corner.

    You usually need an .ipa file and a .mobileprovision file

    i can drag it into the library but it does not install

    Did you sync? If the app wouldn't install iTunes should have said why.

    Try dragging the app file into the iTunes Library again, if it asks if you want to overwrite it, say yes. Then sync. I've had beta apps take a few times to install properly.

    no i didnt sync i drag the file to library and a blue plus pops up and i let go and nothing happens

    Check to make sure it's unzipped. If not then extract, unless the dev said not to.

    Yea if its a .zip unzip it. There should be an AdHoc/provisioning file and a .ipa file. Drag the AdHoc into your applications tab, then the .ipa

    i dont even care anymore the dev gave me a lite version of the app in beta form for the next update

    thank u for what. the dev sent out a ipa file just now so it was ur guys fault for giving me awful instructions.

    We all gave you the correct instructions, you're the one who couldn't figure out something as simple as dragging and dropping. I might also point out that we didn't insult you at all.

    I suppose this is why people don't feel the need to try and help others anymore, they just get crapped on.
