I'm a hour in, great game and well worth a few bucks, but it's not Metal Slug 3 good :) They did a really fine playable port in that one.

Quick first impressions are as follows

The game feels nothing like Contra anything, auto aim, all guns seem to auto fire if you hold the button down, and there are tons of check points. It's a fun mindless zombie game! Nothing super new, but its a fun little side scroller that plays very well on the touch screen. I'm not sure a true Contra, one hit kill, no auto aim and lots of hard plateforming would ever work well on a touch device? LOE is kind of close, but still way far away from Contra.... My bad sorry for all the contra talk, it's a game that is very dear to me :D

Bottom line, it's well worth the money! Just don't expect anything super new, instead expect very well done zombie side scroller. The IAPs seem to not be needed, I have been getting lots of coins just playing. :)

In response to the last 2 comments, turn up the difficulty. The default sissy setting makes the game a bit too easy for gamers used to contra or mega man.
I think you'll find it more enjoyable on a harder setting.

To the developer, I love the camera zoom effects. On one of the graveyard levels the camera zooms out really far For a great view of the background and level art. In tight spaces in the facility it zooms in and shows more character/enemy details. Sometimes the little things really stand out. I thought this was one of those cases. Consistently impressed with this title.

Metal slug 3 is a classic. That's a hard question. I personally would say that, for iOS devices, this is as good. The metal slug port is good. It's not incredible though. This is an amazing iOS game.

Thanks for the update. May be out of scope but I wouldn't mind a timed mode (to level exit) with a body count quota, maybe x1.5 more undead per level for it to keep things interesting

Great game btw, look forward to seeing what else Wandake does.

Excellent, thanks a lot for that info.
The game is great fun and you did a real nice job on it. Thanks and well done.
iCloud support is one of the things I like to have in a game, too many devices floating around the house, so thanks for planning that in for future update.

From iTunes on a computer, click on store tab and select view my account.
You'll see purchase history in there, click see all.
Then you'll see all your recent purchases. At the bottom of page there's a report problem button, click it.
Then report appears beside all your purchases. Select the report problem wording beside the particular purchase and then just enter the details.
You do need the latest version of iTunes for this to work.
There is also a report problem link on your email receipt as well.

Here's a link that probably explains it better. The article is a bit out of date but the process is still the same.
    http://ipod.about.com/od/itunesproblems/ss/report_problem.htm
Here's another that's more up to date.
    http://www.labnol.org/software/itunes-app-store-refunds/13838/

This works generally if you have compatibility issues because I've made the purchases myself for the wrong devices and gotten refunds when I explained my mistake to them. Be as polite as possible and they will probably understand.

Keep in mind that they are under no obligation to refund you but in the past I have found the customer service reps that have contacted me after reporting to be very good and very understanding as long as I was polite to them and clear that the mistake was on my part. This will not work for you all the time because some people (not anyone here) try and scam the system and those patterns are picked up quickly. So only use it if you have a genuine issue.

Edit. Other readers, this is in no way a reflection on Max. The game is excellent.
It's just a compatibility issue one member had with their 2nd gen device.

After reading a bunch of overwhelming positive impressions, I'm going to have to pick this one up. Thought I wasn't going to be purchasing anything this week for once, lol. Anyways, this looks sick.

A way to select a loadout would be good, can be hell cycling through multiple empty weapons.
Automatic weapon switch when empty (as an option)

Also notice on one of the loading tips it says you can replay levels to earn more cash, while I can retain extra ammo and health kits from replaying, my money stays the same. I guess this is a bug and hopefully not intentional for IAP?

Great graphics and controls, good difficulty curve in medium (tough guy) and no obvious push for IAP; a good action game.

You're welcome. Good luck with it.

    Back on topic
I think I'm gonna have to get me the alien plasma rifle. It would be the icing on the cake.

It is a lot of fun.
I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying it because it's not my usual type.
    But it's addictive fun.

Reminds me of an uber polished flash game. With a year of development time. No, actually it reminds me a little more of Shank, albeit with platforming and guns instead of melee and story.
