Guys. It's free for Halloween. All of this arguing is pointless. It's not permanently free. Nothing about early adopters. It's just free for Halloween.
Well, they'll climb the "free apps chart", the "all games-free" chart, and whatever subcategories it's listed under. Back when the free app sites launched, apps could go between paid and free, with the downloads at either price registering in whichever chart it was currently in; that is, the paid or free charts. In other words, an app could be a buck and have 500 downloads, go to free and be downloaded 1000 times, then go paid again, with all 1500 downloads affecting its spot in the charts. I know this was changed with the download count resetting when going from paid to free and I assume vice-versa. I don't know if it's been changed back. I believe Apple wanted to stem the abuse of the rankings that became very prevalent, but, in my opinion, this has been a contributing factor to "upgrade abuse" (my term). That is, when a paid app goes free, followed by an update that ads or increases iaps; often going paid again. Why? Because it seems the main marketing reason an app goes free nowadays for a day or so is to generate a new stream of revenue via ads, iapps, etc. While the old system was certainly abused, devs and publishers could actually make money by making their apps free for a short period WITHOUT ruining the app in the process. Edited several times for spelling. The TA iphone app could really use a landscape mode.
I should mention that the Appstore rankings are being abused in a worse way now than before. The top paid apps list (top 10 overall, top games, etc) are ALMOST ALWAYS nearly completely filled with apps that can be redeemed from app redemption services, i.e. FreeAppDaily. The top free downloaded apps are ALMOST ALWAYS the apps that need to be downloaded for points at these same sights. The charts have become a joke regarding the quality of the product.
Well, to me, you can be a hardcore, avid Infinity Blade, N.O.V.A., or Chaos Rings player. But how many ios device owners do you reckon have Pugs Love Beats! on the first screen of their phone, like me? . We take it to a new level here.
I'd suggest any of you that didn't get this at launch pick it up. I really enjoyed this game as a metal slug / shank esque side scroller, it's probably the best iOS original on the AppStore. If you like it, throwing a couple dollars in IAPs at the devs for their work would be a cool gesture as well. I hope this sale can generate enough sales and revenue to encourage an update.
Whoa, even more ouch... I got a typo in my last post, the 293 MB was surely before unpacking, that's what I had in mind. Anyway looks like a good game, I only played it a couple of minutes. Runs without any problems on a 3GS if anyone is interested.
That was some lame sarcasm. Jeffy has a point. Apocalypse Max holds your hand well onto the furthest difficulty. Knife, knife, shoot, they all go done far too easy. This could have been a good game if it wasn't made so a 6 year old can beat it with ease. Can't believe people bought in app purchases for this. Does anyone here find this so difficult they need to buy in ap currency?
I think most of us found the game a bit easy, but if you stick with it you will find it ramps difficulty up later in game. Out of interest, how far are you through?
Wow, this is really good. I love the subtle details, like if you fire a shotgun at a faraway enemy, there is a slight delay before you see the blood spurting from them. But yes, the difficulty is definitely skewed towards the casual, Angry Bird-flinging demographic. Play this on Suicidal if you want any semblance of a challenge.
Yeah game looks really good. But there are no moveable controls? On my new ipad, the left/right sticks are a little too far in and make it a little unconfortable. Anyone know if the developer is planning on adding moveable controls? Plus it would be nice to move the buttons too.
Youre just jealous of Jeffy. No way imma call you better than I am coz I can beat any 6 year old in any game, except my little pony games.
I'm going to have to agree with you. I really wanted to like this game, but just couldn't get into it.
