Well, yes, obviously music is music and is good anywhere anytime, GDS, but what I feel when listening to that style of music outside of those three settings I mentioned is that I should really be in those three settings rather than whatever mundane locale I happen to be at the moment. I don't really feel that way with other sorts of music. I don't listen to, say, Common or other hip hop artists and pine for the days I cut class and hung out in the park (well, not always anyway). I could listen to that anywhere. Same deal with metal, punk, etc. But when it comes to dance music of all forms...I either wanna be in the car listening on the way to the club, or in the club itself. Maybe it's just me....
Well, I listen to this type of music whenever. Wierd thing is I listened to it on the way to my Hockey game this evening. Needless to say It really didn't "pump" me up but I leave that to more hardcore stuff like Sky Eats Airplane, Disturbed (not hardcore), and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster (so kickass).
