So lately I've noticed we've got quite a few very huge threads for other consoles like the PS Vita thread, the Steam thread, and a few others. I think a normal forum would work pretty well with these megathreads expanded out to individual threads with tags in the thread title like [Vita], [PC], [360], etc? What do you guys think? If there's not significant interest I won't do it, as forums without much activity just turn into spam collectors and lord knows we have enough spam problems around here.
Wait what is this name stuff you guys were talking about, I meant making a new subforum or something.
It would make more sense to make a single general (non-iOS) gaming forum, which is what I think Hodapp is getting at. Vita isn't big enough for its own forum.
I thought the Lounge was that already. I mean, the most active "other game" threads there are the Steam, Vita and occasionally 360 ones.
The way it is now is good enough I think, the Vita thread is somewhat busy, but not enough for consoles subforum. The other consoles don't get as much posts, not sure why. Maybe once the Wii U, and other next gen consoles come out it will pick up. Just my opinion.
An entire subforum dedicated to just one console/handheld is just a waste of this website's bandwidth.
If the forum exists, people will post in it. That seems to be the case with the Minecraft sub-forum at least. Edit: And it's not like we only have topics for individual consoles. The Starcraft, Borderlands, and whatever other gaming-related topics can go there too.
I think a new subforum for the console threads would actually be a great way for members to keep track of them. Perhaps just keep all the threads as is and just move them over. EDIT: Holy crap, someone hijacked Hodapp's account and changed his name to Eli.
I think a sub forum for consoles would be best, where each console has its own thread. Basically it makes the console discussion threads easier to see. I don't think some/all consoles need their own sub forum, so far having one thread for discussing vita stuff for example has worked out fine (for me at least).
