You know I just got done a spelling bee, (dont judge me, i didnt take it seriously nd Im cool), so without studying at all, somehow I won first. My prize: a dictionary and a thesauras. My friend got 4th and he gets 25dollars. I learned one thing from the experience: always ask what the prizes are before any competition. If I knew the prizes, I woulda thrown it! So use this thread to complain about how you have been wronged. But really, a dictionary? What am I supposed to do, study some more? Grrr, im gonna go eat a bagel.
I was in a knockout competition once (the basketball game) with like 200 kids. First place got 50 bucks. I got second and got nothing.
If this is the bee I'm thinking you won, you'll go to nationals, get to be on TV, and if you win first place, I believe you win $12,000 (for college of course ) Anyway, I recently did a spelling bee which I felt I could have won. The only reason I lost was because I hyphenated semifinal...Semi-final
Surely the losers need the dictionary seeing as the suck at spelling?! There's a show in the UK called Countdown and the final winner on that also gets dictionaries! Unlucky to you
Way back when, I went to a super smash bros n64 tournament at a local game store, they had advertised all these prizes and game giveaways and such. I got to the second to last round and lost to some cheapass kid who only used samus' screw attack over and over, and I got 4th place, which had no prize, and they hadn't done any giveaways or anything. So I felt like I got gyped, after beating out like 200 other people, spending all day at this thing and causing my friends who had already all lost to stick around. Not too bitter about it, but I was pissed. Haha and now I really suck at that game
