Word to the wise, most English teachers in my experience prefer 12 pt font, double-spaced on all typed work.
The same goes with formal documents and things like cover letters with job applications. There's a fine line between making the font big enough to fill more of the page when you don't have much content, and just being ridiculous. Businesses will actually think negatively of CVs sent in huge fonts as it makes the applicant look like something of a slacker. They'd rather see a smaller font with seemingly less content because it's the quality that counts.
Exactly. And SJP's essay was 20 pages long at 16 point font, with three blank pages at the end. Even though he probably has more content than his peers, it looks like he has a less because there's so much wasted space.
I guess i never thought of that. On a seperate note, was my essay decent for an 8th grader? Be honest. I can take it.
It was quite good, especially for an eighth grader. I can't wait to publish it online so that when your teacher runs a plagiarism check, she finds it under someone else's name Not that I would do that, but consider it before giving out your writing to strangers. I have no doubt that some unscrupulous people would do that, especially once you get to high school/college.
haha..yeah that did cross my mind but I believe TA is a pretty trustworthy when it comes to stuff like this.
You don't have to worry now, but when you have more important essays that you work for hours on, you really shouldn't share them with strangers. I can spend 12 hours on an essay and I would hate for someone to steal it. Also, broken shift key?
