Any quality reminder/to-do list apps?

Are there any good reminder/to-do list apps out there, that actually alerts the user when important tasks take place, in the form of ringtone and/or message or something? Most of the ones I tried is simply a notepad app; you write in the important task and the app stores it, that's it. It would make sense that the app would actually tell me when I have to do that important task, since realistically I wouldn't have that app open 24/7 on the phone to check. Thanks.

Check out Toodledo. Syncs with the website, and has push alert reminders.

I'm sure there are others ... this just happens to be the one that I use.

I need one that doesn't require wifi, since there's no wifi outside home or school. Seems kind of useless that "it requires wifi at the time of the reminder... -.-". All I need is basically the built-in alarm clock app that accepts date input instead of week-of-day input. Hmm what search criteria should I use?

Toodledo does not require WiFi, so I'm not sure what else to recommend.

I recently discovered 2Do from Guided Ways and it suits my needs. Aurora, 2Do is like a notepad where you input your tasks and put them in a timeline for due date. You can set up push notifications and alarms if that's what you want.

I can't seem to find a link to this app in TouchArcade, there must be one. The app is this one http://bit.ly/1CBk7p

In the app description from appshopper:
"Get audible popup alarms for tasks that are due soon, using Apple's Push Network for remote notifications. For this to work, you must sync your iPhone with Toodledo.com and have a network connection at the time of the reminder."

There is no Apple API that supports doing reminders right now other than using push notifications. So unfortunately no apps are going to be able to do reminders without wifi/cellular connection until Apple adds the feature. 4.0 maybe? Seems like a basic feature for a SMARTPHONE.

App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.

That's not a WiFi reference. That just means you have to have a data connection to receive the push notification ... that could be Edge or 3G.

i've used this before, i don't think it has all the bells and whistles of the app above, but it could be something to look at

App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.

Yeah, I have both of the aforementioned apps on my iPhone.

[app]Pocket Informant[/app] is a pretty extensive action-tracking and scheduling/calender app. It has Getting Things Done-style contexts (think Omnifocus) and alerts.

[app]Home & Work[/app] is less robust and focuses mainly on to-do items, but they have category sensitive actions and really great icons.

A couple notes apps that I highly recommend, although they don't fit the OP's criteria, are [app]Put Things Off[/app], which is similar to the Do It Tomorrow philosophy, and [app]Awesome Note[/app], which is aptly titled to say the least.

I am beta testing this app. It is very good. I was using Saisuke and Todo by Appigo, but now I using just this one. There are sound alerts with a small window pop up even if you are not online

Really? So what exactly the use of wifi with the Push feature? I'm not really familiar with Push.
If it doesn't require wifi at all, then I'm going to think about it... just that the price tag of $12.99 for a calendar app is really high o.x

I highly recommend Awesome Notes. I've been using this for about a month and it's, well, awesome. But I don't think it does do push reminders, other than on the app icon.

Pocket Informant is now on sale, 6.99 dollars, 3.99 pounds.

If you have been debating on getting this, no reason why not to get it at this price

  19. TV Shows & Animes is the one I use.

I missed the Pocket Informant $7 sale now $13.
I missed Awesome Notes $2 sale now $4.
    I missed 2DO Sale $4 now $5.

oh well think I might just go with Awesome Notes I'm thinking.
