That seems pretty clever as I don't recall seeing any other game keeping track of what you've purchased like this.
It's Strange Flavour Ltd's 10th birthday next week on April 1st. (we've actually been writing games as Strange Flavour since 2001 but officially set up the company in 2004) so we've added a special, limited edition, livery to Any Landing that'll only be available for the next week. Anyone who's already bought Wings in the game will be able to unlock it this week and to sweeten the deal for anyone who hasn't bought any Wings yet, it's going to be Double Wings Week
It's Strange Flavour's 10th birthday today, so just a reminder to grab your exclusive aircraft livery in Any Landing before the end of the week. It's also Double Wings week as well!
I just re-downloaded this, and tried to restore purchases, but the button does nothing at all (no error or anything). A known problem?
Did you have the final purchase with infinite wings? It will only restore non consumable purchases, which in Any Landing are the last one you make that gives you infinite wings. The App Store doesn't let you restore consumable IAP items. In Fast Fishing and Snap Match Soccer we did an alternate system that has all the purchases as non-consumable so they can be restored, but it resets your game progress when you do so (otherwise players would be able to milk a single purchase).
Zwilnik...just a tiny question related to Any Landing and the recent news on Strange Flavour's shift in pricing models. Does any of that pertain to AL? Unless I'm mistaken, AL isn't a Play Nice title, right? I noticed it said you guys were reworking the Play Nice titles. Does that mean there's no chance of seeing a premium Any Landing?
AL was the first Play Nice title (which is why it has the prototype PlayNice system with non consumable IAP up until the final purchase). There will definitely be a premium version of Any Landing
I'll be posting an update on my blog about what we're doing with our older titles as well as how our new pricing will work, but first I've got to get Tiny TrackZ finished and submitted today!
Hm that'd be the $9.99 purchase, right? No, didn't purchase that. On the other hand, it shows "$0.00 bought " which is consistent with "restore purchases" doing nothing (I don't get credit even for what I spent before? Not terribly upsetting if not, just would be nice )...
Yes, that threw a few people but it's an unfortunate side effect of the way the IAP consumable system works. In Any Landing, we used consumables up until the final purchase as being able to restore non consumables meant players could by $0.99 of wings, progress a bit, restore purchases and get another bunch of wings, progress a bit etc. The problem was this had the downside that your purchases were the same as in any other F2P game until they were made 'safe' by the final purchase. So for Snap Match Soccer and Fast Fishing, we switched it all to non consumable purchases, with the caveat that restoring purchases also reset your game. The 'ideal' balance would have been a new IAP system from Apple that just credited NCIAP towards a final purchase, but that would be a bit of an ask We do have a safety net in place though, can you PM me with your game center handle if you have one?
Thanks! While we're waiting for our new game Tiny TrackZ to be approved ( http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=267276 ). I've been working on an update to the original Any Landing, which will be renamed Any Landing PlayNice and a new paid version (which will logically just be called Any Landing). Apart from some bug fixing, the main issue has been getting the game working properly on the newer iPhone screen sizes, which it does now.
The new update for the PlayNice version of Any Landing is now on the app store. This fixes the game for iPhone 6 resolution, plus a few other minor fixes and changes the name to Any Landing PlayNice so we can submit the paid version as Any Landing
I'm on board with The paid version as soon as it lands. Get it? No seriously. The buy button is primed! Billy
