Virtual stick can we not just have a simple left/right button setup I'm sure it'll be good either way but the virtual stick wording made me panic.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I'm working on the 1.1 update at the moment (aiming to be submitting this week) with quite a few fixes, changes and additions. Not sure what other ones will make the final cut (like the possible bonus Flappy Landings mode) but here's what's in so far: Aircraft Unlocks will be permanent (aircraft purchase with wings will be slightly more expensive, but you still get them for free when you reach levels 9,17,25) Vibration On/Off switch for iPhone players On-Screen touch control option for pitch (i.e. Tilt on/off) Everyplay Videos working Everyplay Game ads (so you can get free wings by watching ads from the shop menu. NO Ads in gameplay of course). Pitch Control reversal option for MFi Controller and On-Screen touch control. I'm also going to be adding a couple of one off purchases in the upgrades for a Bank option (saves your coins between games) and a coin doubler. You buy these upgrades with wings, so you can either purchase wings as IAP to buy them or earn the wings in game.
Cute game, the IAP is tuned a little too friendly as others have mentioned. Not a complaint, but if the Dev wants to make a few shekels... We need more games like this, by the way. The fact that the plane is *always* in flames is simply too much! I can't stop giggling.
Can't wait to see the update. This all sounds great and the idea of using in-game currency for the coin doubler and bank is awesome!
Those updates sound great! I'm loving this game - besides great graphics and gameplay, it's one of the few truly funny games in the app store. Particularly looking forward to non-tilt controls.
The good news is it looks like I've managed to get the game fast enough on the 3GS and iPod Touch 4G to be able to support them in the 1.1 update now too. They're not the ideal devices to play Any Landing on, but they will at least be playable, if a bit less flashy in the graphics department
Put me down for the non-tilt controls camp too. Didn't like it on the Nintendo Wii. Hate it on my iDevices... You might want to check the iPad 2 too. Any Landing runs very jerkily on mine...
You might want to check the iPad 2 too. Any Landing runs very jerkily on mine...[/QUOTE] Odd, it was at full frame rate on our iPad 2 and iPad Mini when we submitted it. It's pretty marginal though, so anything heavy running in the background or memory being tight will probably push it over the edge. It's worth doing the power off-power on trick on your iPad just to check, but I'm also going to do some general optimising to speed things up too.
I reboot, as in hold down power button until the red bar appears then swipe it, daily when I recharge my iPad 2. Typically, I kill all my running apps except the settings app, and sometimes my browser, which is currently Mercury Browser. My iPad 2 is the 16GB 3G version running iOS 7.0.4 (11B554a). Only Wi-Fi is turned on, everything else, Bluetooth, 3G, and GPS are turned off.
Nearly there with the update. Here's a screenshot of the on-screen control in action Because of the problems with aircraft not being permanent and some players spending IAP to buy them and being disappointed when they lose them after a game, I'm setting the game to give more wings to anyone who purchased any IAP prior to the 1.1 update. There's good news for 3GS and iPod Touch 4G players too. I've got the game up to 30fps on those (and sped up on other devices).
Nice, thanks. How does that work for getting more wings after the update ? Are you putting in a doubler or something?
Because Play Nice is already taking note of how many IAP purchases you made towards the maximum amount, I can use that to give you wings for each one spent. Obviously if you've bought the Many Wings option, you don't get any more, but we're going to be adding some extra stuff for the players that hit the max as the game goes on
Sweet how long do we have to wait for the long awaited and possibly most anticipated update of the year
Depending on how things go I'll be aiming to submit it today or tomorrow, then it's down to how fast it goes through Apple's approval process. So *hopefully* we might see it by the end of next week.
Yes I think something should be done to change the system about the planes themselves... After finally getting to the night stages I spent a load of wings on the third plane as somewhere in the game it stated something about planes you buy were "yours to keep" ( or something like that). I didn't get much further that evening but felt disappointed when I returned to find the plane gone and now out of reach to "buy" again. I can jump to different levels but you feel a sense of loss when you return and your progress (plane-wise) is gone. Not really a sensation I think you want the users to have... Still I love the game... I was hooked the moment the plane took off and the landing gear promptly fell off.. lol nice that quality games can still be made by a couple talented people without a ten million dollar budget.
