There will be more things (permanent and otherwise) to spend your wings on being added You shouldn't be losing your wings though. They should keep until you spend them on something. Of course the things you spend them on can be consumed.
I do like that idea. I was also wondering; I saw elsewhere in the thread that someone lost their wings when they got a game over. Does that also apply to wings that we purchase?
Ah yes I'm not losing the wings, more just that I'd spend them on a plane or upgrade then lose the plane or upgrade
So is there an absolute limit of $9.99 or not? Once you spent $9.99, everything unlocks and all further consumable IAPs are free?
Another idea for IAP that I know people and myself like would be a coin and/or wing doubler/tripler. That way the 500,000 for the first plane wouldn't be as hard to get especially since it seems like people don't realize you lose it after game over. Have a coin double/triple be $2.99 or something so getting those plane upgrades can be quicker if you're starting out and 2.99 is easier for some to swallow than $9.99. Also think it would be nice to see some of the upgrades have a coin option. Say the engine is 10 wings but it cost 50,000 coins as well, or more if there is a double/tripler since cash doesn't really seen to matter except for plane upgrades. You could weight the upgrade cost vs saving for the bigger planes. Really enjoying the games. Fun to play while not paying attention to crappy Olympic sports.
No, you don't lose wings between games. They're the game currency, so you only use them up when you spend them. A coin doubler is a possible, although there are effectively ones in the game. If you equip the first class seats that doubles the rewards from the passengers each time you land at a runway and the other powerups such as the disco, cocktail bar and swimming pool all boost passenger revenue. As you get more coins, some of the in flight shop offers will start offering a price in coins instead of wings. And yes, there is an absolute $9.99 cap on the IAP. Once you've spent that, you get infinite wings.
Isn't this pay as you go or rather pay as you crash unless you spend $10 for unlimited wings? So the game really costs $10 or more if you don't spend $10. I don't really like tilt controls either and you hit paywalls if you' crash often unless you pay $10. It's more like a trial that you can buy and play all you want for $10. The gameplay fun factor for me personally is not worth more than a couple of $$$, no way $10.
I only played 5 minutes, not enough to even become familiar with the game and hit a paywall with the store appearing telling me if I wanted to continue playing I had to pay. I didn't even have a chance to decide if I liked it or not so I deleted it. I wasn't going to lay everytime my wings ran out and $10 is a huge ask and especially that I haven't had enough time to play the game to see if I like it or not. This early paywall strategy forced me to delete the app as I wasn't going to buy more wings to TRIAL the game further and couldn't put $10 into something I couldn't trial properly. You want exposure to your game so people can spread the word. Its counter productive if people have to delete your game so early because of a paywall but that's your call.
What on earth did you spend your wings on? I've made it up to level 8, I learnt the controls and the rules. I've got 80 wings collected and I've only just started spending them. Perhaps we just have different play styles. I save my premium currency until I know the game and what it's worth spending it on. Perhaps you spend it at every opportunity?
I didn't spend them on anything. I bought NOTHING. It took wings from me to continue to play. I've got no idea why it took my wings. But I never bought anything. It said to continue I had to pay 7 wings so what can I do but pay or not be able to play? It only took a couple of crashes and the store appeared telling me I had to pay to continue to play. This is called a paywall and I never ever had one come up so fast. I hadn't played for much longer than 5 minutes. Why is the app docking me for playing such a short time? I'm confused. Can someone please explain. I repeat I bought nothing.
Ah, gotcha! There's a continue and a restart on that screen. The continue costs wings and the restart doesn't. I've nearly clicked continue by accident a few times myself!
Yup. The continue option is to keep your current game going after you wipe out at game over. There's no paywall. There are checkpoints every 4 levels and once you make it to those, you can skip directly to them. So if you're trying to make your way through the levels rather than going for a highscore, restarting can be a better option sometimes.
Microphone? Why does it ask permission to access the microphone? I have tried yelling "Mayday!" but it does not seem to help.
It's for the Everyplay game video recording (you can record your own commentary over the top). There was a glitch with the 1.0 version that stops the everyplay videos sharing but it's fixed for the update
I thought I'd give this a try based on the favourable review, but when playing it discovered that it uses the vibrate function and this cannot be turned off. Oh well, deleted.
Downloaded Any Landing and bought the everything IAP. It controls well on my iPad 2, but is too hard to control on my iPhone 5C. Maybe the developer can add virtual control options? If the developer does a Pocket Train clone using this Play Fair system, I will surely buy the everything IAP for that too...
Cool, I hope it does work. On 5s and haven't been able to get it to save a video to where I can then go back and see it from the menu (or anywhere else).
In the game options there's a control sensitivity slider. You can use this to adjust the tilt controls to suit. Also looking at adding a virtual stick control for those without MFi controllers or playing in bed or on a plane etc. It does use vibration as a stall warning on the iPhone, but there's going to be an option to switch it off in the update too.
