I got the 20 wings for the new plane, crashed and lost it. I thought I get to keep that at least, no?
The first four aircraft are normally unlocked as you play (every 8th level) so they're reset on restarting the game. You can purchase them early to speed up your progress (or help you survive a little longer) but they will still reset when you start a new game. If you continue the game (using wings) you keep the aircraft. Also, once you reach every 4th level (all the ones with cutscenes) you can skip directly to them each time you play. So once you reach level 9 you can skip to it and start with the cargo plane as soon as you make it to a runway.
I think its weird to lose the plane. Its not that easy to get 20 wings and to lose everything just like that it's kind of a bummer. But if that's your decision...ok :-/
Yeah this needs to be explained a bit better, there's 4 planes right at the end of the list (the right hand side) that stay unlocked after you get them in game, but the start ones are like upgrades for each game. This really confused me at the start too.
I'm going to do so tweaking for the initial update. If you're trying to play through the 'skill' path (ie the hardcore gamer route without IAP) then being able to use the EveryPlay Game Ads to get free wings will help when they're switched back on and I'm going to adjust the number of wings you get through IAP too. Will also be having a look at the aircraft unlocks too but they're meant to be 'speed up' payments, so they won't permanently unlock or we'd never earn a living [edit] adjusted the number of wings you get for the 2 consumable IAP purchases
The way the planes work as upgrades during the game works fine, it just needs explained more that they're per game and not a permenant thing. The ones you do unlock are right out of the way on the other side of the screen and I don't remember any message saying youve unlocked a new permenant plane? There's nothing wrong with the current system just needs explained more.
Lots of potential here -- I don't mind the tilt controls but even at a high sensitivity setting find them a little too tight still, but maybe that's just me. Is there an option to turn off vibrate? I couldn't find it in the options. Thanks!
Don't get me wrong, I like the game itself, and I've been a fan of Strange Flavour all the way back when Airburst came out (speaking of...). I was just surprised when the plane I "bought" was gone. A warning of that might be a good thing. Have you considered making a third purchase option to use actual money to permanently unlock a plane? Like the other IAP, it could count to the full game unlock amount, and each plane could cost a dollar more than the previous, to maintain their value. Just a thought.
First thing I'm looking at adding is an alert when you use wings to buy a plane that mentions it's temporary. However, I'm also looking at making it so the temporary unlock is for more than 1 game, so there's more value in it and possibly a higher priced option that lets you permanently unlock that aircraft. So for instance, the cargo plane would cost 20 wings to unlock 'early' for 5 games but say 80 to permanently unlock.
Downloaded Any Landing due to a review that claimed there is a limit of $9.99 that unlocks everything once I hit that amount through that unlock IAP or by accumulation of the money spent on IAPs...
Yup. If you've bought the as many wings as you want option, you've got infinite wings so can buy any aircraft or upgrade you want.
I 2nd the notion for an option to turn off vibrate. Even with my phone on silent, the vibrating is still present, and pretty annoying.
Yup. It may take a little while but we will get it working on iPod Touch 4th Gen and iPhone 3GS. The main issue at the moment is memory and speed, so the background graphics may get trimmed a bit, but we *will* get it working
I'm enjoying the gameplay, but I'm super confused about buying new planes. Do I have to wait until I have 500,000 coins to unlock a plane I can only use until I crash land?
The aircraft is only lost at game over, if you don't continue. If you manage a 'good' or 'great' landing (i.e. not game over) you still keep it. The new planes automatically unlock for that game when you get to specific levels. So when you reach Level 9, you get the cargo plane automatically. If you want to get it a bit faster, you can either aim to gather coins quickly enough to buy it for 500,000 or use wings to buy it for that game. The idea is that you don't need the bigger aircraft until they're unlocked in the levels, so the purchase option is purely to make it a bit more casual/easier.
Wow I was able to track down 3 of the secret planes (ones all the way to the right) and gotta say it makes for some intense moments! And hearing the line "This is your Captain speaking, we didn't need that part that fell off.....ok we did need that part" and then crash. Greatness
I've came up with an idea because I'd really love to out some money your way but buying the wings seems a bit pointless to me when your just going to lose them (I hate disposable IAP currency) but if you made something like special planes you could buy or skin packs for the planes I'd be all over them. Can't think of anything else right now but for example I bought all the extra cars in slotz2, the extra missions in things like battle academy, space hulk and warhammer quest and I always buy the remove adverts IAP if a game has it and I intend on playing it for more than five minutes but I never buy in game currency. Just my thought on how you'll get some money out of me and maybe others.
