It's more of a tactical thing. If you make it to the next area (level 9) you get the next aircraft unlocked for free for that game. However if you want to unlock it early (which can be beneficial in terms of survivability, earnings etc.) you have to focus on getting coins rather than wings/kittens etc. So you go for every coin you can see, use the in-flight purchases to convert wings to coins when they pop up (there's always one when you land on a runway). Or use wings to buy them if you're richer in wings. Essentially it gives you different ways to play through the game. So you might complete the game but not have collected the kittens or souvenirs, so playing through again trying to focus on them gives you different objectives etc. The second set of 4 aircraft are unlocked permanently, but I won't tell you how (although one of the start of level tips does hint at it )
Also, the coins are almost a second score as they're only really useful to buy aircraft early, before they're given to you at the next area, but they can sometimes be used to buy things from the in-flight shop when it shows the price in coins rather than wings.
Ah that makes sense, I haven't reached that far to unlock a plane in game yet, I just used wings to unlock the second plane.
Looking forward to getting my hands on this one, and I'll put up a review when I do. Glad to hear there won't be ads, and I especially like the way IAP is going to work. Other developed could learn a lot from that...
So do we never get to keep the new planes?? I bought the second plane with wings but then crashed it and lost it, Then just now I got all the way to the Far East and unlocked the second plane that way but then crashesd it and sure enough starting again I'm back to the first plane? This isn't a complaint so much as a question from a confused point of view, I just presumed that the planes would be permanent. I'm loving the game though, really fun trying to do better each time and not crash in the middle of the jungle
There are 8 aircraft at the moment. The first 4 are unlocked as you progress through the levels and reset each game. The other 4 are 'specials' with different capabilities (not necessarily better ) and are permanently unlocked when you find them in the game We're planning on adding more aircraft in future updates too.
Also picked this up using my NZ account. Fun game! The game play is similar to Zombie Ace, but there's a lot more going on here in terms of control of your plane, varies obstacles, bonuses and power ups. If you liked Zombie Ace (which I did), you'd almost definitely enjoy this as well. They're different enough and I'd probably even recommend this over Zombie Ace, which although generous, pushes the whole store/IAP component more. Well done!
downloaded and played a bit. I don't like it, I can't deal with the controls. And I've got no idea what exactly I have to do. Imo Zombie Ace is better in every way but nice to see others enjoy the game.
The controls aren't as "arcade-like" so it definitely has a different feel to it. Not a sim, of course, but you do have to worry about stalling and other flight factors. I can also see where the objectives aren't entirely clear though. It's been a while since I've played Zombie Ace so the game overall feels fresh to me. But ZA was a fun game despite a little heavier push towards IAPs.
Thanks for the input. Sometimes it's just as good to hear why someone isn't enjoying the game as we planned it. I'll keep these in mind when working in the update
Does anyone know how I can update the title to the correct format for the forums and get the app link format working? (it looks like thread title editing is mod only?) Or does the app link only work when the app's live in the US?
I'm at a total brick wall, I just can't get past welcome to the east (9) I've tried the first and second planes and the first two extra planes you unlock as I have them unlocked now, just nothing works, I've tried using the upgrades and even the one use extra engine update you buy with wings. In the past hour and a half I've been playing I've tried going from the start also skipping straight to level 9 and just can't do it?? Is there something I'm missing? There must be. Some help here please.
It depends on what's catching you out. Typically it's your engine burning out (using the throttle too much) or the airframe breaking from too much damage. If you're using a couple of power ups, the best is the engineer one as he constantly repairs as you fly, but the engine and airframe upgrades will get you a little further. Inflateable airport keeps your power ups (and passengers) if you have to crash land. Also note that you can land on flatbed trucks or railway flatbeds and they count as a runway too Sometimes it's a matter of learning a safe path through the mines/drones/aircraft and when your engine or airframe are critical, buy the repair bonuses that come up in the in-flight shop. Everyplay isn't working in game for me? I've tried a few times so far but it won't let me log in, I press log in enter my details it looks like it's loading then nothing happens? I'll try your tips for the bit I'm stuck on though, thanks. It's really addictive just flying along collecting the power ups and trying not to crash though.
Staying in the air as long as possible is a good tactic. You can either hop runway to runway which will get you more cash from passengers (and their luggage ) but if you keep flying you get extra cargo crates and wing bonuses spawned as specific distances, which can be more valuable.
Well good news bad news, I got past the bit I was stuck on, don't know how though, I'm putting it down to the usual old gaming thing of when your trying for something it doesn't happen and then as soon as you take a break and come back it happens right away, because that's what just happend. But about everyplay I even searched on he actual everyplay app and don't see the game or a single replay about it??? And it's not working in game for me. Is there something wrong/broken with it? Other than that all is now good. (Bed time now though nearly 1am)
It's possible the Everyplay option is broken in the 'live' version. It could just be a settings glitch, so I'll have a look into that and see if it can be fixed remotely.
