If I recall correctly, it says "fruit flavoured" on the back of the cans... but I wouldn't say it tastes like any one fruit in particular. It's probably closer to Cherry Coke than regular... crossed with root beer... and then altered to taste like none of the above.
I hate it. I tried it in this American sweet store in Australia, and it tasted terrible! Maybe it was a different dr pepper, because it tasted like cherry. It didn't say cherry on it though.
Was it imported from US? All mainstream soft drinks in the states are manufactured with corn syrup rather and tend to taste overly sweet muting out most of the flavor. I'm in the US and I won't even buy corn syrup crap, thankfully they sell Mexican Coke in 24 packs everywhere now because the demand is so high. Try getting some Dublin Dr. Pepper, I've never had it but it has real cane sugar I hear it's delicious. Cherry is not a flavor I would normally associate with Dr. Pepper.
Yeah it was. I never knew how many types of cokes and pepsis there were until now. I saw about 10 different types.
Im not sure if that's any "life" at all! You must call it an existence until you've drank a wonderful Dr. Pepper. Then you may refer to it as a life
Dr. Pepper fanboys and believers: rejoice! - this is the way to The Church Of Dr Pepper: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=234345001008 And because I am in a good mood, here's a nice recipe for: Dr. Pepper Cake! Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 cups white sugar 1 cup Dr. Pepper soft drink 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 2 eggs 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup butter 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows 6 tablespoons butter 1 cup packed brown sugar 2/3 cup peanut butter 1/4 cup milk 2/3 cup chopped, unsalted dry-roasted peanuts Directions: 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease one 9x13 inch cake pan. 2.Mix together the flour and the white sugar. 3.In a saucepan combine the Dr. Pepper, cocoa, and 1 cup of the butter or margarine, bring to a boil. Pour melted butter mixture over the flour and mix well. Stir in the beaten eggs, baking soda, vanilla, buttermilk and miniature marshmallows and mix well. Pour batter into the prepared pan. 4.Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from oven and spread peanut butter topping over warm cake. Place frosted cake under broiler, about 4 inches from the heat source. Broil for just a few seconds, or until topping starts to bubble. Do not scorch. Let cake cool at least 30 minutes before serving. 5.To Make Peanut Butter Topping: Cream together the remaining 6 tablespoons butter, the brown sugar, and the peanut butter. Add the milk and stir well. Mix in the nuts. Spread topping over still warm cake. 6. Go like: OM NOM NOM NOM.
As much as I love Dr. Pepper, I am actually not a huge fan of the cake (my wife's side of the family makes it a lot for holiday events and such) but yeah. For those who have never had Dr. Pepper, here is kind of what it tastes like: It has almost a Amaretto, almond, blackberry, black licorice, carrot, clove, cherry, caramel, Cola, ginger, juniper, lemon, molasses, nutmeg, orange, prune, plum, pepper, root beer, rum, raspberry, tomato, and vanilla kind of taste.
Neither would I, but if you've gotta pick a fruit... If you ask me, Cherry Coke tastes absolutely nothing like cherries either, just as so many brands of strawberry yogurt taste nothing like strawberries. You kinda grow up accepting these flavours as what they claim to be.
Just take a look at the ingredients you might find in a fast-food strawberry milkshake: milkfat and nonfat milk, sugar, sweet whey, high-fructose corn syrup, guar gum, monoglycerides and diglycerides, cellulose gum, sodium phosphate, carrageenan, citric acid, E129 and artificial strawberry flavour. And what does that "artificial strawberry flavour" contain? Just these few yummy chemicals: amyl acetate, amyl butyrate, amyl valerate, anethol, anisyl formate, benzyl acetate, benzyl isobutyrate, butyric acid, cinnamyl isobutyrate, cinnamyl valerate, cognac essential oil, diacetyl, dipropyl ketone, ethyl butyrate, ethyl cinnamate, ethyl heptanoate, ethyl heptylate, ethyl lactate, ethyl methylphenylglycidate, ethyl nitrate, ethyl propionate, ethyl valerate, heliotropin, hydroxyphrenyl- 2-butanone (10% solution in alcohol), ionone, isobutyl anthranilate, isobutyl butyrate, lemon essential oil, maltol, 4-methylacetophenone, methyl anthranilate, methyl benzoate, methyl cinnamate, methyl heptine carbonate, methyl naphthyl ketone, methyl salicylate, mint essential oil, neroli essential oil, nerolin, neryl isobutyrate, orris butter, phenethyl alcohol, rose, rum ether, undecalactone, vanillin and solvent. Those milkshakes have NEVER SEEN a strawberry.
I stopped drinking soda a while ago, but I thought it kind of tasted like prunes a little... Stop drinking Dr. Pepper!! Soda is loaded with ingredients that will give you a bigger gut, not a bigger bicep.
To be honest, I couldn't get a bigger gut if I tried... and I have tried ...and uh, that's because I'm slim, not because I'm enormous already.
Anyone else a fan of water? I drink it more than anything else. One of my friends never drinks water because he doesn't like "taste". WTF?
Water tastes absolutely disgusting. The fact it's close to being neutral just means it tastes all the more like someone else's saliva. I can only drink moving water
I love water. It's the only drink I don't get sick of. Sounds like they accidentally spilled a whole shelf of artificial syrup. I've also never had a DP in my life. Only curious of it because a certain character in a Japanese light novel series is obsesse with drinking DP.
Water tends to take on the flavor of it's container after a while. I prefer Dasani which has salt in it to protect the flavor or smartwater which has no taste to it whatsoever. Having made soda myself my guess is that in 1 gallon of Dr. Pepper syrup all those ingredients could fit in a shot glass and the rest of it is half a 5 pound bag of sugar with just enough water to dilute the ingredients. You can't possibly fathom how much sugar there is in soda until you make some yourself but that doesn't change the fact that it's freaking delicious.
I've never heard of Dasani. I just googled it and no wonder I've never come across it in the UK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dasani
